My first mechanical keyboard, big impulse buy, never spent this much on a keyboard… absolutely love it. Ordered on a Friday came on a Saturday!

The keyboard itself has a great feel to it, weighty base, and the caps are very smooth. I have really fat hands and fingers and have no issues typing on this thing.

The sound it makes is incredible. It may take time getting used to having to lift your fingers up and also being assertive when hitting keys. You will only have this problem if you were using a sh!tty keyboard before.

The ninja caps are great, the lettering on the side of the caps is enough to remind you every now and then what is where. You’ll probably be surprised how little you will need to look at them.

    Highly recommend.

I originally bought, in error, a Swedish version of this keyboard which took a little figuring out. In fact, it had the odd advantage but with the help of the excellent people at the Keyboard Company my error was quickly sorted out. The English version is a joy to use. Crisp, comfortable and accurate. Using it is untiring and my accuracy has increased noticeably. It is well built and the keys feel absolutely right. Perhaps the only thing that betters this keyboard is the service and support I received from the Keyboard Companys staff. Dont hesitate to buy one.

I am writing this review after 4 years of ownership of this keyboard.

It is an UK layout, Cherry MX Brown switches, and I use it with my Macbook for software development. The keyboard itself is a Windows keyboard but it’s very easy to configure it so that it behaves as native Mac keyboard.

The quality is spectacular, it works and looks as new after 4 years. Ninja key caps make for a wow effect.

I’m very grateful to all the keboardco team for providing a great service and including shipping to Portugal. I’m a programmer, at first I was wondering if diacritics to type portuguese letters would really work, but no problem at all, even with (English United Sates) language and keyboard layout (United States International) works brilliantly; each sign (~, ^, `, ‘) is hold until you press the desired letter. I’ve chosen the USA layout with Cherry MX blue and I couldn’t be happier, love it. I also recommend it to everyone who wants lo learn touch typing.

Rigid, great distances between keys, super clean look, love the front-facing printed keys, while you can see them they’re more difficult to see which has been forcing me to improve my accuracy. Overall love it!

Finally I invested in the item I spend the most time with every day. I am very happy with the product. It is quite loud, more than expected, and also the typing feeling does take a little to get use to, but typing has never felt so satisfactory. Delivery time to Germany was superb.

Extremely quiet keyboard that I expect to last forever. I had been hesitating for a long time to get it compared to maybe cheaper alternatives, but I really think this keyboard will outlast me. I use it with basic wrist rests and it really made typing my typing more stable and overall a comfortable experience.

Switch Type: CHERRY MX Silent Red   Layout: United Kingdom

As someone else said, the silent Cherry MX Silent Red switches are really quiet. If you don’t type particularly heavily, you can type very quickly on this keyboard with almost no noise. I went from a regular (blue-type) mechanical keyboard to this one and it was a significant upgrade in every way. In an open-plan style office that everyone seems to have these days, you won’t annoy colleagues who are sat right next to you or in the vicinity.

The fact that the letters are printed on the front of the key rather than the top makes a lot of sense for touch typing. When other people maybe pair with you and use your keyboard for a while mostly it’s a short adjustment and they’re fine.

Highly recommend this keyboard if you want something absolutely robust, very quiet and incredibly productive. The only negative sides possibly, though I’m not super fussed, is the lack of multimedia-type keyboard to adjust your volume and the like and, if you’re like me, it would nicer if the rubber feet were glued on better. I put this keyboard in and out of my backpack each day and so the rubber feet tended to fall off; if you never move your keyboard this won’t be an issue for you but I think may just have to superglue the things in place now. A minor inconvenience to an otherwise flawless board.

What an absolutely fantastic keyboard. I had a plan to buy it, but felt impatient and bought a gaming KB which was defective. It got replaced and was defective again, at which point I gave up on it. The service I got from that particular shop was atrocious to top the experience off. I should have ordered a Filco straight ahead instead. Well, I did and I completely adore it. The silent red switches are, in fact, more silent than the membrane Dell KBs we have at the office. I hadn’t tried these switches before and I was curious how I’d like them. Well, they are just amazing. It’s a subtle, silent thumping with such a soft feeling. I highly recommend this keyboard for any office. Your colleagues will respect you for choosing wisely.

I’ve become a lifelong fan of Filco and will likely purchase from here again as the service of Keyboardco is nothing short of stellar. I’ve also recommended the site to many of my friends, but not many of them are as interesting in mechs as I am. Regardless, many of my colleagues immediately appreciated how awesome this product is and I think they might join the club in the future.

great piece of kit. it’s my second filco ninja. first one with browns, this one red – a different feel but same quality. really happy with it. keycaps are a bit plasticy. the PBT doubleshot ones are much better but thats an upgrade that you can do down the line if you so choose.

It’s been close to a year since I bought this magnificent keyboard, which I love.
Best keyboard I’ve ever had. Extremely comfortable, extremely good-looking, feels and looks solid and heavy so it never moves around. The chord is long and thick, and definitely not shoddy. The angle the keyboard makes with the table when the feet are extended is pretty much perfect.

I have still a few negative remarks to make. The top layer of the space bar key has started getting scratched away over a not-that-small oval-shaped area near where I’m hitting it the most often. It’s not glaring but it is a noticeable blemish. Also one of the two little rubber stabilizers on the tips of the feet of the keyboard used to prop it, has fallen off pretty quickly and doesn’t stick to it anymore. But, I kept using the board with just the one remaining rubber stabilizer and I can’t tell the difference (especially, it didn’t make it wobbly at all) so I don’t mind at all.

As for the sound of it (I bought the one with MX brown switches), it’s not loud by any margin, but to say it’s a silent keyboard would be lying. I doubt it would ever bother people at all in an office environment, but it’s definitely noticeable if you’re the only one using a computer in a room of average size (provided it’s not a nightclub, ha). In short, it just sounds like an average, non-intrusive keyboard, but it’s not miraculously soundless or dampened.

I bought red O-rings for it at the same time I ordered the keyboard. To be honest, when they’re on, the difference is there, definitely, but from a certain perspective it makes no practical difference. So little in fact that I initially only put o-rings over about half of my keyboard, to test their effect… and in the end never got around to put the little dampeners over the remaining keys, because I’m lazy and I can’t actually tell much of a difference between the sounds on the left side and on the right side, unless I *really*, purposely focus on trying to hear it.

So, it does make things better, unquestionably (and to me the tactile experience is identical, so no problems on that front), but it might very well be like barely ten percent less noise, and not much less. Therefore, no drawbacks for using o-rings at all, just don’t expect it to be that much better with them than without.

As for the Keyboard Company : perfect delivery, nothing to complain about, would recommend it to anyone. It’s so very nice to go shopping online on good websites like this one, that aren’t creepy, scam-ish, or maze-like at all (you-know-which-one).

Overview

The Ten-Keyless version of the Majestouch-2 Ninja

Filco’s Ninja has the same layout as a standard UK keyboard, but instead of having legends on the top of the keys it has legends on the front of the keys. This is the 88 key version of Majestouch (the Majestouch without the number pad). With this compact keyboard, you can save space while having the same layout, and the same tactile feel as the existing Majestouch series.

Additional Accessories

The Ninja comes with 2 sets of Windows keys 1 set top printed, 1 set front printed, and a key puller to help you change the keys.

True N-key rollover

The functionality by which all the typed keys are recognized on the PC, even when many keys are typed simultaneously. All the keys typed simultaneously are recognized on the PS/2 port (limited to 6 keys typed simultaneously for the USB due to the specifications of USB). Completely dedicated electronic circuitry, a diode is soldered on the PCB for every key switch to prevent ‘counter currency’.

Solid and stylish

The rigid case construction gives a sure and comfortable typing experience with a specially designed font, for better visibility and a stylish and long lasting appearance.

An excellent feel with the ‘brown’ MX tactile feel key switch

The Cherry MX ‘brown’ key switch, gives a tactile feel without the audible click of the ‘blue’ switch, it has a long key stroke of 4mm with the actuation point (key press) at 2mm. Easy, fast and stress-free typing, the famous features of Cherry MX tactile feel.
