We believe there is a significant benefit to be gained from buying a keyboard that is made to last, using quality materials and a well considered design.
It is fundamental to what we do.
There is benefit to physical well being by avoiding work related RSI.
There is a benefit to the environment by improving product lifecycle and this is also a benefit to your pocket as, over time, even an expensive keyboard can pay for itself.
In order to ensure that our customers can enjoy these benefits in full, we are happy to fix and mend whenever possible.
It does vary with brands and designs but for example, Filco Majestouch keyboards – we can fix any issue that may occur, from a single switch fault to a main controller chip failure.
So if you have a decent mechanical keyboard that for one reason or another is not working, or not performing as you would like, please let us know and we will be happy to assess the situation with a view to providing a solution.
And if you are using a keyboard that you love (I am typing now on a 10 year old Filco) but it is looking a little tired, we can help there too. We know that all those crumbs and bits of fluff seem to get in and around your keyboard. It’s like a magnet for them.
So we also offer a clean up service to keep things looking good. At the same time we can make any fixes needed. The basic job is to remove all the keytops, clean out the area below (just a dry vacuum usually), wash the keytops and replace them onto the keyboard. Cleaning any marks or dirt from the outer case at the same time. This is usually all that is necessary but sometimes people might like a new keyset, or we can even fit a new top case, so it really is looking like brand new.
Costs will vary according to make and model and any repair replacement parts, but our standard charges for Filco repairs are:-
Basic clean £40.00+VAT
Single switch replacement £20.00+VAT
Cable replacement £25.00+VAT
Daughterboard replacement £30.00+VAT
These charges include any parts needed but do not include return carriage which will be an additional charge.
PLEASE NOTE.
This is for non-warranty services.
If your keyboard is within warranty and has failed please contact us by email or fill in a returns request.
