I had been researching a new keyboard for my iMac for sometime and having read numerous reviews and trawled through a great many discussion threads on various forums I found myself beginning to drown in information and contradictory opinions. I mainly use my keyboards for programming and technical writing so RGB lighting and gaming macros were not a factor in my decision making. Many of the reviews I read tended to favour gaming keyboards.

Until very recently I have been using a Ducky Shine One with Cherry Blue switches that I got to replace Apple’s Magic Keyboard 2 a couple of years ago. While the Ducky keyboard felt solid and gave a significant improvement, in terms of typing experienceenjoyment, over the Apple keyboard there was always something that did not feel ‘just right’ to me. The fact that the Ducky would intermittently hang every few days did not help this.

I reached out to the Keyboard Co for some advice as their reputation on the various forums seemed consistently good and they stocked a number of the keyboards I was considering. I am so glad I did… as the support I got from Bruce was excellent 🙂

After numerous emails back and forward regarding the merits of different keyboard brands and the typing experience of various switch options, I was considering Cherry Clears, Blues and Browns, Bruce finally convinced me to try the UK Filco Ninja Majestouch-2 Tenkeyless. I had initially ruled this keyboard out for two reasons. Firstly it has a captive cable and secondly various comments I had read gave me the sense that Filco were standing still and no longer innovating their products.

It is perhaps worth mentioning that while conversing with Bruce on the various keyboard options I also visited some local PC stores and tried keyboards from Razor, Cooler Master, Steel Series and others to give me a ‘feel’ of some of the ‘alternative’ switch options.

At the end of the day I opted for the UK Filco Ninja Majestouch-2 Tenkeyless with Cherry Brown switches and have to say I am really liking it so far. The typing experience far outweighs the minor concerns I had regarding this keyboard. As a plus setting it up on the iMac was a breeze and involved simply selecting the British – PC layout. The Ducky has now been relegated to a mostly headless Linux server 🙂

So I would give 5 stars to the Filco for build, typing experience and 5 stars to the Keyboard Co for their excellent pre-sales support and quick delivery.

I purchased the cherry mx blues. The keysboard itself has a phenomenal build and the keys themselves feel very tactile. I know this keyboard will last a long time and will be a joy to use.

Great keyboard, I’m very pleased with my purchase, (UK layout, Cherry MX Brown switches).

I have a backlit CODE keyboard at home with Cherry MX Clear switches and wanted something similar for in the Office.

This keyboard is almost as good but is literally half the price. Recommended.

Mostly good, echoing the comments of previous reviewers.

My only major issue so far is with the spacebar. It has one cherry MX switch in the middle, and then a metal bar going horizontally with plastic holds at the end, rather than 3 cherry switches.

This means that when you hit the spacebar, you can often hear a tinny, metallic click instead of the same sound you hear when hitting all the other keys. I have found this to be annoying when typing.

Best all-around keyboard for programming and playing games. The casing feels solid and has zero flex. The switches are great with slight tactile feel and satisfyingly smooth travel.

It’s my first mechanical keyboard, so the rating I’ve given is based on how much better using it feels in comparison to the old keyboard I was using before.

I have the Cherry MX Brown switches and the weight and clickiness is very satisfying. I work pretty much all-day at a keyboard, so having a keyboard that is so comfortable to type on is brilliant. I love the styling of the ninja keys and overall I’m very happy with the purchase.

I agree with a comment made by another reviewer that it would be nice if the USB cable were detachable, so that in the odd occasion that it needed to be transported, the keyboard itself could be packed securely without damaging or bending the USB cable. Saying that, it’ll hardly move from my desk so it’s a minor point.

Superb keyboard! can’t really recommend it highly enough! Works like a charm with macOS as well, as long as you do a quick remapping of option and cmd keys.

Excellent service and quick delivery from KeyboardCo as well. Highly recommend them.

Great keyboard. Not too noisy with brown switches but without compromising the great feeling.

Couldn’t be more pleased with my new keyboard.

Oh, and delivery was good too.

I have been using my Majestouch-2 Ninja for a week now and I am very glad I ordered it. It isn’t quite as silent as I expected but the typing experience is a vast improvement on any PC keyboard I have used since the old IBM keyboards of the 1980s.

One improvement I would love to see is the replacement of the fixed cable by a USB socket.

Best keyboard I’ve ever typed on, the build quality is excellent. I don’t think the blue switches are that loud in my opinion so using it in the office is fine.
The keyboard is a little tall so maybe a wrist rest will be needed for extended use

Prompt delivery, customer service was quick and efficient. Happy with this purchase and highly recommend

    Thanks.

I purchased this as a gift for my partner and he absolutely loves it. Nice and small with a good amount of click to it- there but not too intense. Though I would recommend buying a wrist rest to go with as it’s fairly high. Very happy with it.

Last time I was using mechanical keyboard I was still searching Google through AltaVista. Since then, I have been reluctant to return to mechanical because of noise, but recently I had a chance to try keyboard with Cherry MX Brown switches and after that I needed to own one too. This keyboard is outstanding, the build is sturdy and can help you in case of zombie outbreak as a blunt weapon. The tenkeyless size is excellent for shortening the distance between typing your status and navigating mouse to next youtube video. The noise is greatly reduced with mousekeyboradyoga pad under it (fits perfectly on a larger mouse pads). If you’re looking for better typing experience, I can definitely recommend this fine keyboard.

After years with my CM Storm Quickfire Rapid keyboard I discovered Keyboard Co and immediately ordered this beautiful keyboard. The customer service was outstanding. I forgot to order the red ESC keycap I wanted and it was added to my order without any problems. Shipping was very fast from the UK to Germany. I really recommend everybody who’s looking for mechanical keyboards to buy here at Keyboard Co.

The keyboard itself is, to use Ted’s words, a high end keyboard of outstanding quality. Really like the keyboard and the keys (Space, Return, Backspace) I didn’t like about my old keyboard are just as any other key on the Filco.

What can I say, such a beautiful keyboard and extremely prompt delivery from Keyboardco. I would definitely recommend this keyboard to anyone who’s in the market for a high quality mechanical keyboard that just does what its supposed to. None of this RGB lighting rubbish, no macro key marketing. A simple easy use keyboard that will stand the tests of time and beyond! Plus with the delivery came a place mat for my coffee and a nail board… my nails have never looked this good!

Overview

The Ten-Keyless version of the Majestouch-2 Ninja

Filco’s Ninja has the same layout as a standard UK keyboard, but instead of having legends on the top of the keys it has legends on the front of the keys. This is the 88 key version of Majestouch (the Majestouch without the number pad). With this compact keyboard, you can save space while having the same layout, and the same tactile feel as the existing Majestouch series.

Additional Accessories

The Ninja comes with 2 sets of Windows keys 1 set top printed, 1 set front printed, and a key puller to help you change the keys.

True N-key rollover

The functionality by which all the typed keys are recognized on the PC, even when many keys are typed simultaneously. All the keys typed simultaneously are recognized on the PS/2 port (limited to 6 keys typed simultaneously for the USB due to the specifications of USB). Completely dedicated electronic circuitry, a diode is soldered on the PCB for every key switch to prevent ‘counter currency’.

Solid and stylish

The rigid case construction gives a sure and comfortable typing experience with a specially designed font, for better visibility and a stylish and long lasting appearance.

An excellent feel with the ‘brown’ MX tactile feel key switch

The Cherry MX ‘brown’ key switch, gives a tactile feel without the audible click of the ‘blue’ switch, it has a long key stroke of 4mm with the actuation point (key press) at 2mm. Easy, fast and stress-free typing, the famous features of Cherry MX tactile feel.
