Overview
The Keychron K2 is a super Bluetooth or wired keyboard giving you all the keys and functions you need while keeping it compact and with one of the largest batteries seen in a mechanical keyboard.
Connect with your phone, laptop or iPad. Connect the keyboard wirelessly via Bluetooth with up to 3 devices, and switch between them with fn + 1, 2 or 3. You can also use the USB to type-C cable to connect the keyboard to your devices and/or charge the keyboard.
Tactile feel Gateron Brown switches with a lifespan of 50 million keystrokes and more.
Compatible with all operating systems from Mac to Android to Windows. K2 is one of the few mechanical keyboards featuring Mac layout media keys. It allows you to use all the same media keys as conventional macOS. Every K2 keyboard comes with specific keycaps for Mac and Windows, respectively.
K2’s 85 key design retains all the essential function keys like Page Up/Down, Home, End, and Screen capture (cmd+shift+4) which are important for your productivity. With N-key rollover (NKRO on wired mode only) you can register as many keys as you can press at once without missing out characters.
Designed to be a wireless mechanical keyboard that everyone would love to use in everyday work. The CNC processed streamline aluminum frame with curved profile keycaps creates an unbeatable feel and the 6 degree typing angle gives unrivaled comfort.
With 4000 mAh battery K2 has 25% more battery capacity than the Apple Magic keyboard, 2.7x more than the Logitech Craft Keyboard, 4x more than Hexgear’s X1 and two times more than the Keychron K1 Keyboard. This ensures that K2 lasts as long as it can with a single charge.
Engineered with more than 15 types of RGB light and comes with different styles (flashing, breathing, or static etc) which will match up to your mood. Simply press the light bulb key or fn + right arrow to achieve it.

Excellent keyboard. Love the aluminium frame. Second one I’ve purchased since spilling a cup of tea all over the first.

Switch Type: Hot-swap Gateron Blue Layout: United Kingdom
I needed a decent bluetooth keyboard with a bit of longevity and the K2 ticked all the right boxes. Keyboard Company delivered quickly and I particularly like the promo beer coaster (the last company to send me one was a Czech logistics company) so five stars there.
As to the keyboard itself: Pros – Everything feels high quality. It feels well made and solid. Good quality double shot keys with a slight rubbery feel, nice clicky blue switches, the backlight is fun and most importantly for me the bluetooth enables easy switching between different devices. However this brings me to the one small elephant of a problem…
Cons – I bought this mainly to switch between laptop, Pi and Steam Deck all of which are running different flavours of linux. Apparently there is a known problem with the Function keys and linux and this is that they do not work out of the box. They do not work if you toggle the switches between windowsmac & cablebluetooth, the F keys are stuck firmly as media keys (vol -+ etc) Keychron are aware of it and helpfully direct you to a FB group but this really ought to have been fixed properly by now!
In any event I used a combination of this page: https:mikeshade.compostskeychron-linux-function-keys
And particularly this page to make the fix permanent although on the Steam Deck it remains to be seen how long standing any changes to etc will be.

There are other resources out there but just FYI if you use linuxraspbianSteamOS and expect it to work as advertised out of the box it will not!

Best keyboard I have ever owned, would highly recommend it. Great service from Keyboard Co too, and it was delivered on time.

Firstly, excellent service from Keyboard co, fast efficient and friendly. Great product, my only observation is coming from using a laptop keyboard I needed a wrist rest to adjust my position for comfort. This is just a note for buyers.
Excellent keyboard, great quality, good battery and included cables and peripherals are really high quality too. The 90 degree braided cable is particularly nice.

Keyboard feels great, very solid and comfortable to use. Love the typing experience. Only thing that could be improved are the power and OS switching buttons on the side which are hard to use.

Switch Type: Hot-swap Gateron Brown Layout: United Kingdom
The keyboard lived up to all the hype! This is my first mechanical keyboard and I opted to go safe and go with the Keychron K2 (RGB hot swappable) with the Gateron Brown switches. Everything about the keyboard is super luxurious! Build quality is amazing, keycaps are perfect and the weight to the whole keyboard makes it feel very nice and also means it doesn’t move around on the desk.
All the keycaps you need to switch from Mac to Win are included. I have paired it with a Windows and ChromeOS device and have no issues using it.
Definitely recommended. And the Keyboard Co delivered it on time without any hassle and surprisingly had this keyboard in stock even when Keychron’s own site was sold out!

Switch Type: Gateron Brown Layout: United Kingdom
I already have this keyboard for my M1 MacBook Pro but I kept messing up typing as I frequently swap to my windows PC which had a G5 Logitech keyboard.I am glad I bought this. It’s superior to the G5 for typing and I now don’t have to look at the keys when typing as both keyboards are consistent. Plus the brown switches are great, the lighting is superior as I can see all the special characters whereas on the logitech the lighting only illuminates the main letters and numbers. Which is a pain at night.

Much more solid than I thought it was going to be. It’s a hefty little thing! My first proper mechanical keyboard, and it feels really nice to type on. I got Gateron Browns and they’re a little loud but other than that they seem great. I’d heard horror stories about the keycaps, and maybe my standards are lower than the kech keys community, but they feel really nice to me.
Layout is a bit cramped, but I appreciate having the home, end keys etc. I came from a full size keyboard and I’m not missing the numpad, and I am glad I went for the K2 to get the function row and some navigation keys. However, placing your fingers on the arrow keys is really difficult for me for whatever reason, perhaps some sort of bump like the j and k keys would help with that. I’ll probably get used to it in time.
Backlight is a bit weak, but I’m not really too fussed about that. It’s bright enough to see the keys clearly. I wish I could disable the lighting key so I could just have a consistent backlight and not have to cycle through all the bizarre RGB options to get back to solid lighting if I accidentally hit the light key instead of delete. Also the way the light shines through the orange escape key looks pretty terrible. At least with the blueishwhite colour.
I was a little worried about the height at the bottom of the keyboard, but it’s actually been really comfy for me. I’ve never used a wrist rest though, so maybe I’m used to it.

I have one other mech keyboard and wanted another. Originally ordered from Amazon but the order was messed up so I searched the internet saw K2-V2 on keyboard co and ordered. Slightly more expensive than Amazons but the delivery was quick and keyboard arrived as expected, no fuss or drama. Happy with the keycron and now sits on my desk as main keyboard for laptop. Thank and will order again when I want and upgrade.

I went with the hot-swappable red switches and they’re a delight. Lovely thunk as they go down, balanced between agile and solid. As other reviewers say, the keyboard is very high, so a wrist rest is advisable. Lighting is really cool. You can choose your fixed colour, or opt for a wide range of effects. The orange caps let a lot more light through than the grey ones and personally, although I like the orange colour, I didn’t like the flare, so I swapped on the grey alternatives instead. Overall very pleased. Great service from KeyboardCo.
