Tactile feel Gateron Brown switches with a lifespan of 50 million keystrokes and more.
Compatible with all operating systems from Mac to Android to Windows. K2 is one of the few mechanical keyboards featuring Mac layout media keys. It allows you to use all the same media keys as conventional macOS. Every K2 keyboard comes with specific keycaps for Mac and Windows, respectively.
K2’s 85 key design retains all the essential function keys like Page Up/Down, Home, End, and Screen capture (cmd+shift+4) which are important for your productivity. With N-key rollover (NKRO on wired mode only) you can register as many keys as you can press at once without missing out characters.

Awesome keyboard, well worth the wait!
Seen this keyboard recommended by many online, keyboardco where the only people I trusted ordering from however it was out of stock at the time. Fast forward a wee while later and I finally have it. By far the nicest keyboard I’ve used (mostly corsair, razer, logitech etc) and the most versatile. Went for hotswap gat browns and couldn’t be happier, have used cherry browns most of my life (12+ years).
Once the kb was in stock it came within 1 day. Couldn’t be happier, will definitely be getting all my keyboard stuff from here moving forward.

Great keyboard and fast delivery.
I’ve had one of these I also bought from the keyboard company for a few months now and am now buying a second for use at home, despite being thrown around in my bag every day it’s not got a mark on it, having the three bluetooth profiles and usb has been very useful.

I was using a apple magic keyboard 2 – and it was simply a long line of typos! On my new K2, I’m back to speed and spending my time banging out words instead of backspaces!!!
I had the blue at first – and now the red. The blue I think was a bit better in terms of typing – only it was SO LOUD my partner was like NFW! I’m now on the red, and its a bit less obvious on the keystrokes then the blue – however it is 1/2 the clack; and while louder then the apple – it will allow for domestic tranquility! LOL!
Definitely worth it – thanks!

SUMMARY: Great build quality, but you may want to replace the switches, and the layout makes some keys difficult to hit. Battery life and some design details could be better.
BUILD QUALITY
I’ve been very impressed with the overall quality. The fact that most of the body is plastic doesn’t seem to matter: the weight and the outer aluminium frame make this feel like a solid product. My only minor gripe is that the sliders on the side of the keyboard can’t be moved with the flesh of your finger despite their nubby texture; you have to push their edge with your nail.
It may be worth noting that while the photos may make you expect a retro design, the keyboard actually looks very modern. It’s a slightly blueish grey, and the escape key is fluorescent orange. Very nice, just may be different from what you expect.
SWITCHES
I wanted a tactile switch and so got the Gateron Browns, but chose the hot-swappable version to keep my options open, and am glad I did. I first added o-rings to make the keys quieter, which also helped make them feel less plasticky. However, the main issue is that they are too light: you can’t completely relax your hands on the keyboard without inadvertently depressing keys (they only require 44g of force to overcome the bump; for comparison, a MacBook keyboard has a tactile force of about 67g). This did not feel comfortable and made my hands feel tired, and I worried it might give me RSI. I ended up replacing the switches with Zilents v2 67g (tactile force ~63g), and am extremely happy with the feel now. I’d give the keyboard 4 stars after this upgrade.
The keyboard comes with a key cap puller and a switch puller, which I think aren’t listed on the product page. But the switch puller doesn’t work well on the top row of switches because they’re too close to the edge of the frame.
LAYOUT
The keyboard is a great size: compact while offering all the keys you need. However, like most 75% keyboards, a problem is that there are no gaps between the groups of keys, so you can’t feel where you are. I hadn’t realised how much this would affect my performance. For a long time, my hand couldn’t easily find the Return key, because it’s not at the edge of the main block. I still struggle with the Delete key after 5 months. I think next time I’d try the Keychron Q1, which has gaps between blocks.
BATTERY & BLUETOOTH
I haven’t been impressed with the battery life. The keyboard went to sleep quite often, so I turned this feature off, but then it needed charging about once a month, even with the LEDs off and even if I fully turned the keyboard off at the end of each day. For comparison, the Matias Laptop Pro keyboard only requires charging about twice a year. On the plus side, the Keychron K2 reconnects to Bluetooth much faster than the Matias. The short battery life is exacerbated by the fact that you won’t notice when the battery is low, because it’s only indicated by a tiny light on the side of the keyboard. I never noticed it in time even though I was looking at the side every day to turn the keyboard on and off. There also seems to be a bug where after switching between different bluetooth pairings, the keyboard sometimes freezes and you have to turn it off and back on. I’ve now switched to using it via USB.

Really nice keyboard & great customer service from The Keyboard Company.
I went for the RGB version with hot swappable brown switches. The typing experience is great, Bluetooth connectivity is reliable & it’s quick & easy to connect between different paired devices.
My only criticism would be that the RGB isn’t very bright compared to other wireless RGB keyboards, in fact it’s not even as bright as Keychron’s own example video claims. In fairness though, bright RGB is always going to be a tradeoff against battery life, so in the grand scheme it’s not a big deal & the keyboard is still worthy of 5 starts imo.

Are you looking for a Mechanical Keyboard which has the same functionality of a TKL, is UK-ISO with RGB and is in-stock from a UK distributor? This is the only reasonable consumer decision you can take. Thank you for the smooth service KBC. Thank you.

My first mechanical keyboard bought to foster my goal of learning to touch type. Very pleased – it’s a quality product. Had to choose switches based on listening to YouTube videos. Found the Gateron Browns to be less tactile than I’d anticipated, but they’ve grown on me on I’ll probably stick with them.
Best part of the purchase was the Keyboard Company. Really fast delivery and I’ll definitely use them again.

I got this keyboard due to it being wireless and hearing a lot about keychron being a great affordable mechanical keyboard. It is absolutely amazing, easy to use and extremely satisfying to type with. I got it with the red switches and its not too loud and not too quiet with the perfect amount of click and satisfaction. The RGB lights are stunning especially when typing in a low lit room but not being too overpowering. It has good weight and the quality is unreal. I would absolutely recommend this keyboard to everyone.
Would recommend getting this with the wood keychron wrist rest to really fit the look and aesthetic, if you are one to care about that stuff.
Keyboard Co also gave great service and got my order within 2 working days!

Fantastic keyboard. Loving the Gateron Blue switches. I’m finding the keyboard a pleasure to use and to type on. The switches offer just the right amount of feedback and I’m loving the click shound they make. The keyboard is incredibly well built, the bluetooth works really well with no noticable lag and the battery life is excellent. They Keyboard company delivered my keyboard very quickly and I’m extremely happy with my experience. Top marks – many thanks.

Great keyboard.
Feels sturdy, types cleanly (I went for browns), and a nice range of features without being over the top.
Minus 1 star for the keys – they’re not great at all. PBT replacements are on the way.

I’m a graphic designer…only used apple keyboards up until now…they have been fine but wanted to see what all the fuss was about with this mechanical malarkey…K2 V2….not bad at all…nice to type on and I dig the the sound…I find it calming while I get my creative on. Good work.

This is my first foray into mechanical keyboards, and I thought it was going to be 50/50 in terms of whether I would like it. Well, the simple answer is that I really like it and probably would never go back to a chiclet keyboard. It is far more comfortable on my fingers and I find I mistype less often. I’m still getting used to it somewhat, but I am delighted with it overall. The keyboard seems well-made, tactile and works perfectly with my Mac. I don’t think anyone dipping their toes into the water will regret this keyboard. If it is your first mechanical keyboard, give this one a try.

Great feedback and fast responses from the keyboardco team.
This is the ISO version with the two tones grey double injection moulded keycaps OEM profile.
Solid build quality and fast consistent connection via Bluetooth 5.1 or USB-C (keyboard side is usb-c device end is standard USB so will need a dongle of wire connecting to a Mac).
Consistent stabilisers and switches. Looks, feels and sounds good.
By far the best value 75% hot swappable mechanical Bluetooth keyboard for Mac on the UK market.
Compact but not crowded key spacing. Standard OEM is nice but as with all 75% Keyboards you may struggle with some of the right side keys when it comes to keycap upgrades. But the stock are great. Mixing the stock with HK Gaming Puddling keycaps works perfectly fine.
Easy and clean to swap out switches and perform maintenance and basic mods.
Doesnt sound too hollow not too much rattle or echo for office use (Using Browns).
Full mac Function row and legends are nice. Works well with Karabiner software for full customisation.
Suitable for typing, gaming or programming with no issues.
Height issues with the K2 v1 addressed with the V2. Still quite tall but a basic wrist rest fixes this easily and its not ridiculously high stock. Improved Bluetooth over V1 also.
Battery life is solid, no issues there at all even with max brightness and constant RGBsolid colour back lighting (has multiple options for both).
Aluminium frame can survive a few knocks if you are transporting it tofrom work.
Foam (foam mod) and dust cover come included as do switch puller and keycap puller (nice touch) also the windows alternative keys come in the box for windows users.
Works well with MaciOS, windowsandroid or Linux (tested with Ubuntu and Kali) (will need to reconfigure a few things depending on use case).
For the price K8 V2 for TKL or this for 75% K6 65% for the price nothing comes close for Mac in UK market. Keyboardco great at answering questions about the boards too.

This is the first mechanical keyboard I’ve purchased for use with my Mac, although I also use a Logitech G915 (mechanical) for my Windows PC as my work requires me to use both platforms.
Admittedly, its a different typing experience compared to the Logitech, but I find it very satisfying to use. This particular Keychron model appears sturdy & well made, connection via Bluetooth works well. I consider it reasonably good value for money and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Having said that, it would be nice if there was a battery condition indicator of some description if there is one, I haven’t found it. A choice of colour keycaps would also have been helpful in my case, although I appreciate this is easily remedied for an additional cost.
I was advised the Blue switches are rather loud and I can confirm they are! Although it isn’t a problem for me, these need to be selected with caution when ordering, especially if working with other people in a small office.
The last thing I would like to mention is that despite cancelling two separate orders because I couldn’t make up my mind, I still received the best customer support imaginable. Also, a special shout out to Bruce for his endeavouring efforts to find me a suitable keyboard to meet my needs. All in all, a highly recommended company.
