Excellent keyboard, perfect for office work as it’s actually quieter that the cheap keyboard my colleagues have.

Build seems solid and delivery was really fast. Would buy again!

I bought one of these to replace a Natural Keyboard Pro which had been my workhorse for at least 10 years but which was getting a bit tired, and very noisy (especially noticeable by my colleagues on conference calls).

I tried the Silent Red and the Brown at Keyboard Co’s offices — I was expecting to go for the Brown, which is indeed lovely to type on, but was amazed at how quiet the Silent Red is, even (if not especially) the space bar. When you’re used to bottoming out, the Silent Red isn’t completely silent but I’m sure with time I’ll adapt and get it even quieter.

The Red switches are wonderfully smooth, and I don’t find that I’m missing the tactility of the Brown.

Keycaps are a very personal thing, and to my mind the standard keycaps have a lovely almost-matt sheen to them.

Build quality is amazing, regular keyboards have nothing on this.

Many thanks to John and Bruce for fantastic service, advice and recommendations. I hope I’ll be back!

Purchased this keyboard for use at work since I was tired of how slow (and icky) the membrane keyboards we had were.

The Majestouch2 in silent reds is wonderful. The keyboard is built like a tank and weighs a tonne but it’s also got a very clean design. Nobody knows it’s mechanical until they type on it.

The delivery service from keyboardco was excellent will definitely be coming back again.

Fantastic keyboard, really solid, really nice to type on.

This is my 2nd Majestouch-2, the first was an MX Brown that I use at work, the 2nd is this MX Blue for home and is even nicer to type on, but I try and be a considerate colleague and not have blue switches in an open plan office!

The Keyboard Company have been excellent on both orders, good delivery options, great packaging and great communication, I will use them for all my keyboard needs!

Fantastic keyboard! Love the tremendous quality. Extremely solid, built like a tank. It just feels very well made. It very much reminds me of the old IBM keyboards back in the day.

The Majestouch 2 is now my main keyboard at work. This is a real step up from a TKL keyboard (with MX Brown also) that I used previously : the Majestouch is heavy, and the touch of the MX Brown feels better in it. The typing experience is overall very good.
The construction is top notch, it’s a heavy and solid keyboard.
Kudos to keyboardco for having AZERTY keyboards and for the very fast delivery (well… until my local post office screwed up, but that’s another story 😀 ).

I’m rating this 5/5 just for the fact they come in this layout, which is super hard to find but is a best of both worlds affair:
    – L shaped Enter
    – large size LShift
    – full size Backspace
    – full size space bar
    – no FN layer

I’m just sorry it doesn’t offer more buying choices, having this in browns and with backlight would be an instant buy.

It’s not until you try one of these mechanical keyboards that you realise how satisfying and responsive it is. Solid, weighted and with the MX-Cherry Brown switches a nice amount of click. Also got the Filco palm rest to match which makes the typing experience comfortable and complete. Extremely fast ordering and delivery service too.

After several months of using this keyboard, I can’t imagine going back to one which doesn’t use real switches. As advertised, it isn’t quiet but it’s not so loud as to present a problem. It’s a joy to use and worth every penny.
The only way the product could be improved, in my opinion, would be to make it wireless.

I wasn’t sure what to expect given that I had been using keyboards that came with the dell workstations I’ve purchased over the years but the filco majestouch 2 I purchased from keyboardco is a completely different beast, so well made, nice and heavy so it won’t move around my desk too easily and, yes, the keys really do make typing a pleasurable experience (i can’t believe I said that but it’s true), and it works faultlessly through my old KVM. Is for the retailer, quick, friendly but more importantly they had everything in stock. If you’re in need of a new keyboard you won’t go wrong here.

I have been looking for a long lasting and durable replacement for my 7 year old Cherry KB-0556 black membrane keyboard for a while, as I had been wanting to upgrade to a full mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX black key switches and replaceable keycaps, that also works well with a PS2 connection with full N-Key rollover for both gaming and general use.

In the Filco Majestouch 2, I found a simple and straight forward, also good looking, 105 key UK ISO keyboard with superb build quality and a generally very solid feel, just like that of the home computer keyboards of the 1980s, such as those of the BBC Micro Model B or the M0110A for the original Apple Macintoshes.

The red LEDs that comes with a Filco Majestouch 2 with Cherry MX blacks (and reds) for the lock lights is also a very nice, somewhat retro, touch for me. Also, between the sturdy rubber coated feet beneath the keyboard and it’s substantial weight, it feels positively rooted to the surface of my wooden desk.

The stock cylindrical keycaps however, while being surprisingly solid feeling and of good quality, despite them being thin ABS ones, I didn’t get on with so well. With my rather large fingers frequently catching on the edges of adjacent keys, which when combined with the halfway actuation point and N-Key rollover of the keyboard, resulted in frequent typos for me. I had also measured the spacing between the keycaps and found it to be somewhat narrower than that which I was used to when compared with previous keyboards, which also explains in part why I had more trouble when working with my top down hammering style of typing.

Still, after replacing the original printed keycaps, with Filco’s own spherical double shot keycap set, with narrower and more rounded keycaps, resulting in wider spacing between them, the typing experience did improve for me, with a significantly improved key feel and sound, along with correspondingly greater typing accuracy.

There is a slight low metallic ring to the sound of the keyboard when typing, which may be irritating for some, but for me adds to the depth of the overall sound when typing on this keyboard, which incidentally also makes it sound like the more substantially built keyboards of the 1980s from my childhood.

I had waited until now to post my review as there was an initial adjustment period from the stiffer, more cushioned experience I had with my previous membrane keyboards.

When I first tried the Cherry MX blacks, contrary to other people’s impressions of such key switches being too stiff, I found them to be significantly lighter than that of my old membrane keyboard, so much so that I had to pull off the escape keycap just to confirm that I had not somehow been given a keyboard with Cherry MX reds by mistake!

Since then, as my typing style continued to adjust to the new key feel, I found them to be just a tiny bit on the stiff side after all. This was until I had changed the keycaps to Filco’s taller and heavier double shots, at which point the stiffness became just right for me. I also find them to be just stiff enough to comfortably rest my keys on the keycaps without actuating them, unlike some of the experiences of those who went with lighter key switches, such as Cherry MX reds.

Some reviewers also say that Cherry linear key switches are somewhat scratchy and grainy rather than smooth like lubed ones or those of alternative manufacturers key switches. For me, however, it’s more of a smooth sandiness that actually enhances the tactility of the key switches rather than takes away from them.

Finally, having been used to bottoming out the keys of a membrane keyboard to get them to actuate, I initially found the non cushioned hard bottoming of the keyboard to be rather hard wearing on my fingers, resulting in me lightening my touch somewhat over time to compensate. I had even initially considered getting a full set of long lasting EPDM rubber o-rings to bring back a more cushioned feel to the keyboard, but in the end I ended up preferring the louder, more solid sound and feel of the keyboard after all.

So, in conclusion, I am now in possession of a very high quality keyboard that for me is a terrific typing experience all round, that’s also well worth the price in the short term, while perhaps even saving me money over the long term where it should easily outlast an otherwise long string of inferior quick wearing membrane keyboards!

I already had 3 mech keyboard. I moded few of them, changing switch etc….

    1. The keyboard is simple, nothing fancy nor media control (:saddly:), u can not gesture volume out of the box.
Cherry MX BROWN feels different than my modded gateron brown but still is tactile silent.
The stabilizator are really nice, you can poke SPACE key at the edge, still the entire key will go down even evenly.

    2. I really appreciated ordering on this site, even their convoyers is top liability.
I got my keyboard in a day.

    3. The little surprises when opening the package is a nice touch and make totally sense.

Thks you for the service 😉
