Not impressed so far, and that’s before I’ve used the thing in earnest. The negatives:
    – Packaging impossible to open without destroying it (rendering it unusable should a return be required) and difficult to open without damaging inner box.
    – No manual included, none to be found on Keyboard Co website, link to one on the Diatec website gives a 404 error.
    – Somewhat disconcertingly, the Diatec website lists this keyboard model as discontinued.
    – Eventually found a manual on http://www.manualslib.com. It is impossible to connect this keyboard without having read the manual.
    – The English part of the manual gets you there, but it is written in such a laborious way that it is difficult to follow. I would have found this funny had I not been so frustrated by this point.
    – The keyboard has two LEDs, and these are blindingly, unnecessarily bright.
    – There is no way to tell to which bluetooth device you are paired – you have to remember the last pairing. Even Logitech find it possible to design this in to their bluetooth keyboards, so why not Filco?
    – There is no onoff switch for the keyboard, so it is in standby mode the whole time you are not using it.
I have barely used the keyboard yet, but it feels good in use. As a mechanical keyboard novice, I had been led to expect to feel a click, but not hear one, with each keypress, with the brown switches. I can neither feel nor hear a click – although the keys do make some noise in reaching the end of their travel. I’m not sure that these are negatives, but the noise factor would rule out using this keyboard in a shared office.

I bought a Filco about 8 ago and it’s still going strong! I have that as a spare and bought this one. Love both! This one is even better. Recommended 100%

This is my fourth or fifth keyboard from the Keyboard company and they always give excellent value and service. The board came quickly and was well packed.

I’ve used Filco’s with browns off and on as a daily driver for quite a while, but the cable has meant I’ve gone to options with less wires. Seeing the convertible board I wanted to try it and it is a good quality version with reliable connectivity. The brown switches in a Filco are always nicely weighted thanks to the decent case and construction and offer a smooth typing experience. I do prefer the Topre feel and use that or gold pink switches for heavy typing sessions but for connecting to my work laptop for WFH this is perfect.

I’ve replaced the keycaps as I don’t like the feel of the Filco ones and the font annoys me a bit, but they are very useable and would be fine for most users..this was an optional extra not a compulsory one.

It is now acting as a driver on my work laptop and my desk is so much neater for not having yet another wire to tidy!

First class company to buy from, thoroughly recommended.

Fantastic keyboard, finally the control key is its correct position (in place of the useless caps lock), being an emacs user I always swapped via software the control and the caps lock keys, so this is ingrained in my muscle memory. Recently I began using emacs on android too, and there isn’t easy to set this essential mapping. Being able to swap these two keys in hardware is a godsend, and with the keycaps too!

The build quality of the keyboard is superb, and the keyboard company has been very professional and helpful. Shipment was very quick.

The price tag is hefty, no doubt, but it’s a quality product and I expect to be using it for years to come. I recommend it.

I like the keyboard in all but one aspects.
The switch time between the connection types (Bluetooth connection 1, 2, 3,4 and USB) is very slow.

Hopefully there will be an upgrade

I really like this keyboard – it’s solidly made and the key action is great. I don’t recommend the bluetooth, which I am finding unusable – it’s too complicated and I’ve failed to connect to Windows 11

Filco, well where do I begin, if you know you know!

Filco is a brand that has tremendous loyalty and this keyboard is one of the reasons for it. I type for a living and this is exactly what I needed in a keyboard. This is no-frills workhorse, built like a tank and will outlast any piece of technology you own. Typing on the MX browns is a real joy and the bluetooth connectivity works seamlessly out of the box.

A big shoutout to the staff at the Keyboard Company. Thank you, your service has been fantastic.

This is a mostly very good keyboard, but after using this keyboard for about a year and a half now there are three things that disappoints me:
    1) There is too often a short stutter when connected with bluetooth, which makes a keypress couuunt several times. As you can see in the last sentence here in the word count. I left it as it was typed. This happens perhapes every other minute, which is way too often for me to be able to use this as a work keyboard, at least with bluetooth.
    2) Some keys are not very responsive. My left shift and 2-button need a harder press to respond than my other keys. I’ve tried cleaning and switching keys, but it hasn’t helped. I don’t remember if they were like this from the get go, or if it happened after a while, but either way it’s annoying.
    3) The last thing is that it uses a very old fashioned mini usb for wired connection. Come on, not even micro usb? I guess it’s not important, but it means I have to keep a completely outdated wire around if I want to use a wired connection.

Other than these three points this keyboard would be great. I like the quality feel, I like the keys and design. I use the keyboard a lot with my phone, a laptop and a desktop. It switches fast, it connects fast, and except thos stutters, the bluetooth connection is very good and stable. This would have been 5/5 except for those three points, but I can not really reccommend the keyboard for work unless you use a wired connection or are okay with spelling errors due to stuttering. I hope Filco could get a new version out that fixes these issues.

I work in publishingjournalism and type for a living. In the past year, I’ve been using another solidly-built keyboard with red MX switches, and whilst I’ve enjoyed the smooth actuation, lately I’ve been craving a bit of tactility. Disliking the click of MX Blues, I chose MX Brown.

I’ve always wanted to get a Filco based on its classic looks and great reputation for quality, and I have to say, the keyboard is even better in person – the keys are responsive, there isn’t an annoying resonant noise inside the chassis when typing, and the stabilizers are brilliant. Coming from linears, it was a bit jarring to use a tactile switch at first, but after several days, I’ve just about nailed down the actuation force needed to overcome the bump and ‘float’ across the keys. I’m already seeing my speed and accuracy improve thanks to that feedback, and whilst I still enjoy my MX reds keyboard, the Filco gets the job done that much better.

Bluetooth connectivity is wonderful to have as I like a cordless workspace; pairing is quick, the connection is reliable, and waking the keyboard from sleep takes a second or two at most, much quicker than I had anticipated. Filco has made a bit of a mess of the manual, which is quite convoluted, so have some patience with it!

My only gripe are the stock keycaps and their laser-printed legends, which I will be replacing with white on black double-shot caps. I guess the stock ones would last a good while too, so this is maybe preference rather than something anyone should worry too much about.

Other than that, the weight, the classic black look and the option to go wireless makes this a stunning typing tool that should last a long, long time. Thank you Keyboard Company for the speedy delivery and fun swag inside the box!

My first high-end keyboard having used whatever came with the computer or was lying around. Decades ago I did buy a Cherry keyboard for double the price of a cheap one and it was an improvement, which always stuck in my mind. Then over the past 5 years I’ve noticed more expensive keyboards on the market and never understood why. Then I decided to take the plunge spending 10x what I’d ordinarily look to spend and got the Filco Convertible 2 Tenkeyless MX Brown Tactile UK ISO Keyboard. What a magnificent keyboard it is! I always prefered the definite action of IBM and Dell server keyboards and the action on this is perfect for me. The build quality is first class. The features of multi-device bluetooth, wired and easy toggling are designed very well and have been flawless. The only problem has been how to keep it clean as (a) I’m too lazy to put on the rigid plastic cover at night and (b) I eat and drink at the keyboard way too often. But that is not the keyboard’s fault 🙂 Very happy with the keyboard and customer service (this was exchanged with a Ninja). Would buy this same keyboard again from the same supplier.

Already a Filco owner, I wanted to go TKL to save a bit of desk space and I wasn’t disappointed! The same predictable quality. Great feeling plastics and keycaps and the MX Brown’s are as you’d expect – smooth, relatively quiet (coming from somebody who mostly uses clicky Blues!).

Super happy (as always) with the service from Keyboard Co!
