I needed a full size ANSI layout keyboard for my workplace, and having gone through the cheap mass-produced office keyboards, I decided it was time for a change of pace. After having done my research and deciding on what I wanted, I purchased the Majestouch 2 by Filco. Delivery was on-time as expected and the item arrived well-packaged.
Compared to the keyboards I’m used to, this is a superb product! The keyboard feels solid and well-built. It does not slip around on my desk. The legs don’t look like they’ll break in two weeks. The keys feel weighty and are a joy to type on. The Cherry Browns are not as loud as Blues, and I have not heard any complaints from co-workers. Which is good, because I plan to use this keyboard for a long time. I have noticed that my typing speed has increased after using this keyboard.
Some minor points that don’t detract too much from the overall positives. I would have preferred if the cable was detachable, as a lot of modern keyboards are coming with that option. I am a bit worried about the cable getting pulled etc, and having to open up the board to plug in a new one. Also, while typing I do notice a very slight ringing. But that is probably normal in mechanical keyboards, and I’m just nitpicking.
This did come with a PS2 connector but I have not tested it, nor have I checked n-key rollover. Mostly because I don’t need it at work.
I am absolutely thrilled that Keyboard Company stocks USANSI layouts. It is hard enough finding them through regular PC shops. Overall I would definitely recommend this product to anyone considering it.

Typing this review off my new Filco keyboard,
Royal Mail takes a week to ship to southern France.
I like it.
Since the cherry MX brown switches are 4mm deep while sporting a 2mm actuation depth, you end up with two possible typing styles :
Either you go all the way down (at first) with clear clicks at the bottom,
Or you push down the keystrokes more gently, running your fingers half way to dull out the clicks and get a smoother feel. This comes naturally after a short habituation period to adapt with the keys’ mechanical response. On that note you can add O-ring switch dampeners. I did set them up to test their effect. They do dull out the key hits. In practice I like having the keyboard as is.
The keyboard itself is a fine piece of hardware. Solid, heavy, huge pads, USB cable is thick, lace is robust. Filco didn’t spare on the materials.
It took me forever to compare, read blogs etc, before placing my purchase so let me make one single comparison with an IBM model M. It doesn’t compare. The IBM requires very hard strokes and you get a strong spring force on the return right after the click. The modern mechanical keyboards are way softer. There exist MX CLEAR switches that are rumored to be slightly harder to push in. I will never know for french keyboard layouts are scarce 🙂
All about this keyboard was designed to be robust to the last detail. Just go for it.

I ordered this keyboard a monday morning. It was shipped the same day, flew from England to France the day after and I received it in Paris, one week after my purchase.
This is my second FILCO from the Keyboard Company and the service is just perfect.
The product is very high quality and the construction is sturdy. The design is very slick and the keycaps are marked with beautifully printed characters.
No wonder it is a best seller for the Keyboard Company.
I chose the Cherry MX Brown switches because indeed it gives a nice tactile feel without the audible click of the blue switch. So it is not too noisy.
While not stated in the description of the product, it should be noted that the keyboard has extendable legs.
This keyboard is for you if you like classical design (no media keys, flashy gamers LEDs, or any other clutters) and quality reliable products.

I cannot fault this keyboard. It has keys and they are on a board. Under the keys are some delicious Cherry MX Brown switches, which makes this one of the best damn keyboards I have ever used. It’s beautiful to type on. I don’t play a lot of games (not a huge selection on linux), but I do get into a lot of internet fights, and this has increased my WPM, so I can troll more n00bs quicker. l33t.
If they made this keyboard with media keys, that would just make it the only keyboard worth buying IN THE UNIVERSE. As it is, it’s only the best keyboard IN THE WORLD.

I bought this keyboard last week for work and have just started using it today (on a Windows 10 64-bit PC). Excellent keyboard, feels sturdy, very well built and well worth the price if you are typing most of the day.
The brown switches aren’t too loud so fine for an office environment, however I may install some red o-rings to see how they feel and whether they make the keys much quieter.

This Filco keyboard was recommended to me by someone who has purchased from the keyboard company before. So, it was word of mouth that sold it to me. As for the keyboard, I only use it for typing on and it is a clacky not a squidgy keyboard.
My operating system is windows 10 64bit and the keyboard is simply plug ‘n’ play. No other software is required, which is a bonus in my book.

I ordered this keyboard hoping to obtain a top-of-the-line product, and I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived much sooner than expected. I had used two other mechanical keyboards, and I have to say the Majestouch 2 topped both of them. Being familiar with Cherry MX switches, I would like to commend other aspects of this keyboard; the design is very slick and the keycaps are marked with beautifully printed characters. The item doesn’t weigh too much and is compact. I would definitely recommend this keyboard to other enthusiasts, but it might be a bit of an overkill for a first-time buyer.

Excellent keyboard with superb tactile response, each key is nicely weighted and slightly concave making fast typing much easier. The space bar stays level and depresses no matter where along the bar you hit it from, which is a first for any keyboard I have used.
I wont be going back to other keyboards after this.

I got this keyboard for work and I love it. Compared to the cherry mx reds I use on my gaming machine at home, the browns feel great for typing, giving that slight feedback that the reds lack. And with the standard sized keys I was easily able to customise the look with some nice double-shot PBT keycaps.
