Seal Shield Keyboard, Mouse & iPad Keyboard Cover

While KeyboardCo is perhaps most well known nowadays for its Filco and Topre mechanical keyboards, our product range is much wider than that, including lines of speciality keyboards and mice for industrial use. Case in point is our range of Seal Shield washable keyboards and mice, which are ideal for medical or industrial use where cleanliness and durability is most important.

Today, we’ll be looking at three Seal Shield products, each of which is fully waterproof.

Silver Seal Washable Keyboard

First up is this Silver Seal Washable Keyboard. It looks quite standard, with a clean white plastic construction, but you’ll find that there’s more here than meets the eye.

The keyboard has been engineered to match IP68 standards for waterproofing – meaning that this keyboard can be fully submersed in water, washed in a dishwasher, and even cleaned with healthcare grade sprays and other mild abrasives without even being unplugged first. The USB connector is made of 24K gold to prevent rusting and corrosion, and this is covered with a Seal Cap which prevents water intrusion along the cable. The Seal Shield keyboard also includes antimicrobial protection from mould, mildew and odour-causing bacteria.

Of course, a waterproof keyboard isn’t too useful if it’s difficult to type on. But thankfully this keyboard is a high-end rubber dome model, offering rapid and silent typing with full key travel and traditional IBM style laser-etched keys. In my testing, it was well suited to typing on and was certainly a lot quieter than my usual mechanical!

Silver Seal Washable White Scroll Mouse

If you’re going to pick up a Seal Shield Washable Keyboard, then what better complement than a Seal Shield Washable Mouse? Like the keyboard, this mouse is fully waterproof, with an IP68 certification against water and dust ingress. It is made of comfortable Silver Seal infused plastic construction, which includes antimicrobial protection to eliminate harmful bacteria and keeps the mouse fresh between washes. The USB port is made of 24K gold and includes a Seal Cap to prevent water from damaging the cable.

You’ll find that this mouse doesn’t compromise on performance either. It features an 800 DPI LED sensor that tracked accurately and quickly, two standard left and right buttons as well as satisfyingly tactile scroll wheel. I tried it out in a number of applications, from day-to-day surfing to highly demanding ‘twitch’ video games, and in each instance I was impressed.

Silver Blue Glow Wireless Keyboard with Luxury Case

The Silver Blue Glow Wireless Keyboard with Luxury Case is our final product today. As the name suggests, it’s a combination of keyboard and cover for all full-size iPad models. The idea is that you place your iPad into the cover, which props it up on top of a keyboard in the same manner as a laptop. This means you can adopt a comfortable writing stance, particularly given the integrated wrist rest and the adjustable angle of the iPad housing. As with other Seal Shield products, this keyboard cover includes antimicrobial and fungistatic agents which keep everything clean.

The 76 key keyboard is a silicone model, making it entirely spill-proof. The keys are a little smaller than a full size keyboard, but still are faster to use than the iPad’s touch-screen. Of course, using an external keyboard also means that you can dedicate the entire screen of the iPad to your message, instead of half of it being taken up by an on-screen keyboard. The keyboard connects to the iPad over Bluetooth quickly and easily, and has a battery that will last for 100 days on stand-by. The keyboard can be quickly charged using the included USB cable.

If you’re looking for a luxurious spill-proof keyboard cover for the iPad, then you can’t get better than this Seal Shield. With unparalleled durability and an excellent look and feel, it’s a top choice.
