Pointer speed indicators
Top mounted LEDs show through the chrome thumb rest to indicate selected pointer speed including extra low (XL), low (LO), MD (medium), to high (HI).

Lighted Evoluent logo
The logo is pure eye candy. The illumination turns off when the system is in sleep mode to conserve notebook battery power.

Powerful and intuitive driver
Evoluent Mouse Manager for Windows provides extensive but easy to use functionality for 6 buttons through a simple and intuitive interface.

Windows
Includes driver for Windows XP, Vista and Win 7 in 32/64 bit for programming all 6 buttons. The driver is not required. The VerticalMouse 4 still has basic functionality without it.

USB only; not compatible with PS2 adapters. May be compatible with some USB KVM switches but it is not guaranteed.

Shareware drivers are available at www.plentycom.jp/en/steermouse and www.usboverdrive.com for programming the buttons. (Evoluent has no business relationship with these vendors.)

Perfect compliment to the Unicomp buckling spring keyboard I bought last year.

It took me a few days to get used to it (and to a certain extent, I still am!) but once you do, it's really comfortable and easy to use. Working on a PC for the day job, it's a welcome improvement from the mouse I had before. The only thing I'd say is make sure you get the right size. I've got small hands, so the small size is a good fit. The MediumLarge would be too big.

I found the default button functions caused a minor problem - Some 3D CAD packages use a wheel press and mouse movement to rotate the 3D view - the default assignment of Paste to the wheel press broke this. Easy to fix in the supplied driver though.

The Keyboard Company provide great service - Both the keyboard and the mouse arrived promptly, well packaged, and prices are not hugely expensive. In the case of the mouse, it was a bit cheaper than as on Amazon.
