The combination of tactile feel, the psycho-acoustic experience and incredible craftsmanship all deliver an unmatched typing experience that only Das Keyboard 4 offers. With a Das Keyboard 4, you’ll type faster and longer. It feels so good, you won’t want to stop.

Das Keyboard 4 Professional mechanical keyboard is made of the highest-quality materials and robust construction you can feel. All of our keyboards are designed with high-performance, gold-plated mechanical key switches lasting up to 50 million keystrokes. When Germans design it, you know it has to be good.

Built to last
The perfect blend of technology and art.

Cherry MX Brown Switch - Tactile
The Cherry MX brown switches have a tactile bump when the activation point is hit without the audible click of the 'blue' switch. This feedback helps to increase typing speed by reducing effort needed to push the keys all the way down.

Oversized volume knob & dedicated media controls
With its large volume knob, Das Keyboard 4 allows users to quickly adjust volume while on a Skype call, in a Google hangout, or streaming online music. The Das Keyboard 4 also provides quick access to dedicated media controls such as mute, play, pause, next and previous track. A quick-access instant sleep button has been added to save energy while going to lunch or attending meetings.

N-Key
Gamers and fast typists will love to hear that Das Keyboard 4 supports full n-key rollover (NKRO) over USB. No need to use a PS2 adapter anymore. Just press shift + mute to toggle NKRO.

Full n-key rollover works with Windows, Linux.

A brand new Das Keyboard font
Das Keyboard’s key cap font has been specially designed to provide ease of reading and harmonious view of the keyboard key caps. Das Keyboard’s font looks modern while keeping some of its lines from older, well established fonts. The overall result is sleek and easily readable while not drawing unnecessary attention.

Footbar = ruler
We got tired of those itty bitty plastic keyboard feet. They are fragile and typical. The magnetically detachable Das Keyboard footbar raises the keyboard to an optimal 4-degrees. It looks sharp and can be used as a precise ruler when not in use as a footbar. 16-Inch red ruler is scaled on both sides. A ruler? Why not…

Every detail matters
Featuring a stunning look, Das Keyboard 4 Professional has been completely redesigned with a sleek anodized aluminum top panel, a resonance-free bottom enclosure, a magnetically attached footbar, and a laser-engraved aluminum bottom label… all which make the design feel more badass and the typing feel more responsive.

There is no detail too tiny for us.

Badass experience for badass you
Simplicity to productivity.

I have previously had one mechanical keyboard which was made by DUCKY - it lasted about 7 years before it died after someone spilled cola on it. I persevered with a temporary membrane keyboard for a while after before deciding to get another mechanical. Unfortunately none of the current DUCKY models suit me.

This keyboard at £150 is certainly at the top end of what most people would want to spend on a keyboard. If you are tossing up whether to get a mechanical keyboard I would definitely recommend it - the press of each button is so much crisper than a membrane keyboard which means. I mainly justified it on the basis I spend many hours at the keyboard a day.

What I like
- it is black with no lights (I didn't want a fancy coloured keyboard with LED lights)
- the volume knob is really handy - it has a click wheel feel.
- it is quite weighty and wont move
- the frameplate is made of metal
- the buttons are really nice
- not too noisy - perfect for me actually

What I don't like or think is missing
- lack of a calculator button
- the LED lights for caps, scroll and num lock are a bright but darkish blue. Not a major issue but if you have the lights off they are quite bright - this could be resolved by covering them somehow.

Service from KeyboardCo was perfect so no issues recommending them as a retailer.

Probably the loudest keyboard known to man...but I love it 😄

It's a nice solid feeling keyboard made from aluminium & some fairly thick plastics.
Each key press feels much more deliberate than on my old standard (non-mechanical) keyboard, which is quite a nice sensation.

As the keys have to be pressed quite far in order to engage the switch it seems to mitigate mistyping...it doesn't fix poor spelling, but seems to help prevent accidental key presses.

If you are looking for a clicky keyboard?
The Cherry MX Blue version of this keyboard is the way to go!
But it should be noted:
It is *impossible* to type quietly on this keyboard.

In all seriousness, if working in an office environment I would not recommend this keyboard, I can see how it might really upset people (Yes, it is *that* loud).

I have heard people say it sounds like an old fashioned type writer... And it does.
As with an old fashioned typewriters, each key press feels like a very definite action, which I find quite satisfying.

There is no doubt, it is a quality product (the usb cable is hard wired, a USB type-c connector would have been nice....but that's very minor feedback).

I would happily recommend it to anyone (but equally, if this is your first mechanical keyboard? I would also recommend buying a switch tester so you have some idea of the difference between the various Cherry MX colour switches.

I originally ordered the Cherry MX Brown version, but am glad I went with the Blue switches, I quite like the audible feedback from typing (there is something quite satisfying about it).

The media controls on the keyboard are a little gimmicky (a bit of a relic from the early 2000s) but the volume control wheel is quite useful & has a nice action to it.
It can spin indefinitely in either direction (leftright) and has just enough resistance in the mechanism for it to feel purposeful & sturdy but not difficult to turn.

I don't think this keyboard is aimed at the Gaminge-Sports market as it doesn't support macros.
But of you're looking for a well made & satisfying keyboard to furnish your home office (as I was)?
Then I can happily recommend this (with the caveat that it is *loud*, loud enough to mention it more than a couple of time in a review!).

Very happy with the service I received from the keyboard company. Their prices were competitive, the dispatching and delivery were quick and packaging was superb. Okay for a keyboard this expensive you should expect that but it's good to know that it meets expectation.

I went with the Cherry MX Brown Das Keyboard. After years of using membrane standalone and laptop keyboards it's just divine. Took me back thirty years to the mechanical keyboards of my youth. Even though this is the quieter one. It isn't that quiet and still has a definite action to it.

I like the simplicity of the keyboard. It's just a well-made keyboard with a great feel. Okay the volume control knob is a bit gimmicky but I prefer a volume control knob to volume control keys. I actually find it handy as I move from listening to training videos to MS Teams (*hate*, *hate*, *hate*) calls. I also applaud the absence of driver software. You plug it in and it works. Whether it's Windows or Linux.

It shall see me to the grave. Though that's not much of a competition these days...
