Overview
The KB Paradise V80 is a Tenkeyless keyboard, a standard layout keyboard without a keypad, roughly 80% of the size of a standard keyboard.
The keyboard has Cherry MX Brown tactile switches and Vintage themed keycaps, light beige and dark beige, in a US layout, bright white caps lock and scroll lock LED’s and comes with a detachable braided USB cable.

solid keyboard, a lot better than the matias switch models – those have an insane failure rate. xm clicky alps are not known for their long lifetime, but they sure feel and sound really great.

The keyboard itself has a great feel, and the mx clear switches make coding on this tenkeyless keyboard perfect. Highly recommend. The retro keycap look remind me of some of the first keyboards I had in the 80s 🙂

Switch Type: Alps Soft Click 55g Layout: USA
This is a nice keyboard and nice-looking as well. The TaiHao APC Blue switches have a definite but not overwhelming click, and the touch is lighter than 55g sounds. The keyboard encourages you not to bottom out, as there’s no damping and the clack at hitting the base is not soft. The feel is very good if you manage this however. The plain ABS keycaps are the one weak point — double-shot ABS and PBT both feel better.

I bought this board mainly for the new Kalih Box clicky switches and I am not the least disappointed. I’d say these clicky box switches are the best modern clicky switches period. They sport significant tactility, no rattle and overall solid feel.
Aside from that the board is your standard TLK, very similar to the Filco Majestouch, with the exception of white indicator lights and a detachable cable with a 3-way gutter.
This is where we come to the point of one star taken: the cable is braided! I have no idea why it’s considered to be better quality as such cables are stiff, gather much dust and like to tangle themselves in loops which is usually accompanied by very sharp bends that tend to stay like this.Due to the braiding it also doesn’t stay put in the gutter. Thankfully, it’s a micro-B, so it can be cheaply replaced.
The keycaps are thin, laser printed ABS, but look nice and have a very elegant font.
