Very good keyboard. I’ve been using it for two weeks and I’m in love with it. Fully customisable and perfect size for me.

I absolutely love this keyboard, and I’m so glad I went for it.
I think most people will be considering other boards in this price range like the RK61. I’m glad I went with the Keychron K6 as it has an ISO layout, which I’m more familiar with, and the overall build of the board is better. The aluminium bezel adds a good bit of weight and a premium feel, and the keys don’t sound scratchy. There’s no ping either, which is great.

The stabilisers are a little wobbly and could likely do with replacing or modifying, but at this price point you can’t ask for much better.

The Bluetooth is really easy to connect, I’ve paired the board to both my phone and my PC with no issues. I’ve not had it for long so can’t comment much on battery life!

The RGB is tasteful yet still bright, with lots of fun settings, and it’s easily dimmable too.
If you’re a coder/programmer, bear in mind that there is no delete key on this board, you have to use Fn to use the delete function. The RGB button takes its place. Unfortunately there’s no way to remap this!

Overall, a great starter board, I’m really happy with it.

Great little keyboard, types beautifully and fits perfectly on my small university desk. My only slight gripe is the function symbols under the number keys aren’t illuminated (could probably be solved with a change in keycaps) but still definitely liveable with. Otherwise, looks amazing, great RGB schemes, battery life and bluetooth are solid, no regrets in buying this over the K2 (the more famous keyboard). I’ve also had no issues buying from The Keyboard Company – definitely a timesaver over buying direct from KeyChron, and I would buy from here again.

Great keyboard, love having a hot-swappable PCB. Gateron Red Switches that came with it are also good too.

Excellent keyboard even better than expected, with the features and compatibility options present. For typing the smaller size and wireless has made this enjoyable and more productive to use and on 2 computers.

    Model: Gateron Red (hot-swappable)

    Pros:
    + Looks great, solid construction
+ Very nice to type on (assuming you don’t mind the compact layout)
+ Satisfying sound, and not too loud. No complaints so far using it in an office.
+ Comes with both Mac & PC keycaps, which is a nice touch.

    Cons:
    – Poor Linux support. Function key layer doesn’t work with Linux without some config file tweaks.
    – Not programmable; no way to create macros or rebind keys on keyboard. There might be a way to do it in software but doesn’t seem to be any official Linux software and I’m not even sure if custom mappings would follow you between computers
    – Mapping of (commonly used) `del` and `end` is annoying and can’t be changed; takes a while to get used to.

Couldn’t be happier really, with a few tweaks this is a great little beginners board, and if like me you work with both Windows and Mac regularly then there’s not an awful lot out there as good, the switch to go between Mac and Windows layout is invaluable really!

If you want a more thocky noise then you can grab yourself some new switches (lube them if you really want to go the extra mile!), put some foam in the base and even a new set of keycaps and it all works out nicely, couldn’t be happier with my purchase really.

Keychron series is very underrated, I was looking for a nice thockyclacky sound on a board that doesn’t cost the whole world, and the default sounds are so good on this, way better than any of the Epomaker boards, even the stabilizers sound pretty good, you could improve them but the default ones aren’t too bad, if you’re new Hot Swap boards and just want to get a feel, these are 100% the board for you. You’ll have to make sure you get the right switches, I got some AKKO Linear switches and they didn’t fit, so I think Gateron style switches will fit. And have to mention the battery life is just amazing, I’ve owned this for just about a week and I haven’t charged it since I pulled it out the box (although would recommend charging it fully before use!).

There’s a good collection of RGB lights and effects which also complement the board really nicely, I’ve got custom keycaps so I usually leave my backlight off. There is no official software to change the mapping of your keys, so the Keychron guide has two open-source softwares that they suggest they can use, they’re not too user friendly but Keychron have said they’ll be coming out with a new software later this year.

All in all, a very good board, would highly recommend and also great service and delivery times from KeyboardCo, would definitely recommend picking up boards from here if they have what you want as I will myself.

This is my first mechanical keyboard so I don’t have a lot to compare it to, but coming from Apple’s various bluetooth boards it’s a really enjoyable typing experience so far. It’s definitely loud, but for use in my home office that’s not a problem. The only reason it loses a star is because I find the key legends a little faint, especially the blue on grey F keys and the backlight is pretty dim even at its highest setting. I initially found the placement of the backlight mode button a bit annoying as I’d keep accidentally hitting it when going for backspace, but once I realised you could lock it off that fixed that issue.

Great keyboard definitely opt for the aluminium version well worth the relatively small change in price makes the keyboard feel solid. Bluetooth works seamlessly and is easy to setup.

Very much enjoying this board. The RGB lighting can be set to some quite pleasing and subtle effects, which works great for me. The multi-device bluetooth pairing functionality is seamless and makes switching between my machines much more painless than it was before.

The only real negatives I can find are that the tops of the corners of the aluminium frame are a little unsightly, and that the function keys can’t be remapped (I’ve gotten a bit too used to the Planck-style four-arrow-keys-in-a-row layout and am a bit frustrated that I can’t remap fn2 to be a left arrow)

Tried 60% keyboards before and previously owned a HHKB that I eventually sold because I couldn’t get used to live without the cursor arrow keys, these 65% boards fixes that for me. On top of that, they’re well built and the RGB just adds that unnecessary bit of bling for fun – why not eh? Would definitely recommend these keyboards, and I feel like adding another to my desk…

  20. Ralph –

Switch Type: Gateron Red   Layout: USA

This is my first mechanical keyboard and couldn’t be more happy with mu purchase. It feels solid, well made. Connects to both my Macbook and my PC gracefully. The leads on it are a nice touch.

I have seem many reviewsvideos complaining that it is bulky, but honestly I like it. As I didn’t had any other one previously, I guess this isn’t a problem for me.

The linear sound is perfect, without getting annoying. Battery also lasts long.

Overview

An innovative 65% compact wireless mechanical keyboard

Crafted to maximize your workspace with a compact ergonomic design, while retaining all necessary multimedia and function keys. The hot-swappable version offers the freedom to easily personalize your typing experience without soldering.

Wireless and wired modes

Connects with up to 3 devices via Bluetooth and switch among them easily. With high reliable and broad compatibility Broadcom Bluetooth chipset, the K6 is best to fit home, office and light gaming use while connecting with your smartphone, laptop and iPad. It also has wired mode with USB Type-C connection.

Suitable for all devices

Compatible for both macOS and Windows. Keychron is one of only a few in the market that comes with a Mac multimedia keys layout for Mac enthusiasts. For Linux users, we also have a dedicated user group to help with the experience.

Ergonomic design

Our meticulously designed layout has differentiate the K6 to other compact keyboards by doing the job right. With dedicated arrow keys (You didn’t think you needed them until they were gone) and a reasonable size and position for the right shift key. The inclined bottom frame also makes the K6 more comfortable to type even without a palm rest.

Compact yet powerful

The K6 is compact while offering convenient accessibility to all the essential multimedia and function keys through the combination of key presses.
The K6 also comes with navigation keys to offer the same functionalities of a tenkeyless keyboard, but with a smaller desk footprint.

Three versions

  • Mechanical Switch

Durable Gateron mechanical switch with a 50 million keystroke lifespan to provide an unrivaled tactile responsiveness

  • Optical Switch

Designed with gamers in mind, the LK optical switch enables every key trigger to have a latency of only 0.2ms and a lifespan longevity of 100 million keystroke with an unrivaled tactile responsiveness.
*The LK optical switch version is hot swappable, but we don’t recommend you to alter their switch often as the keys are plugged on the plate very tight, not that easy to swap. It’s only compatible with certain kinds of LK optical switch (need the same dimension).

  • Hot-swappable

You’ll never need to buy an entire new keyboard to try another switch option with the hot-swappable version. You can alter every switch in 5 seconds without soldering, just pop them in and it’s done. It means the freedom to customize your typing experience with ease.
*Compatible with almost all the MX style mechanical switches on the market (including Gateron, Cherry, Kailh, etc.)

Largest battery

The K6 comes with a battery capacity of 4000mAh. The K6 can last up to 72 hours (tested with static RGB lighting), or up to 9 days of normal use (8 hrs/day).
