This purpose made key puller was designed for Filco’s range of professional keyboards, but will work equally well for all keyboards, push the wire end over the key then pull upwards and the key top should come away from the keyboard, particularly useful for swapping your WAS and D keys for one of the sets below.

The tool does its job. Knowing how to make it do its job is something else. Someone at the Keyboard Co was good enough to advise me about that, but, really, instructions need to be made easily available.

Man, that key puller can really pull keys.
Maurice –
Easier to use than a ring puller for larger keys, and of course it can also be used on other keyboard types. Well made too, this one will last a good few years.

Worked fine, got the caps of my DAS Keyboard 4C Ultimate without damaging anything.
Ivan –
I ordered this as a tool to help me maintain the hygiene of my keyboard.
I am very satisfied with the utility it provides.
Built quality is very good.
Richard –
Always satisfying to have the right tool for the job. Works well, and came in authentically-Japanese packaging which adds to the sense of quality!
Outtheredude –
Nice quality affordable key cap puller, which I got two of with another order, with which I was able to pull longer key caps, such as the space bar, with ease.
Dumitru Rob –
Does what it says on the box. Well, technically speaking, there is no box, but…
Works way better than the crappy plastic pullers that are bundled with almost every mech keyboard.

Does the job as advertised.
I was a bit worried because I’d seen another wire key puller being used on a particularly stuck cap and it broke and since I got mine to use on Matias switches, which are notoriously stubborn, I was afraid the same might happen to it, but so far no key cap was able to resist it.
I was also worried that the thin wire would dig into the key caps, but the 4 contact points are plenty to avoid any damage.
If anything it’s working too well, on my left Ctrl key, the puller actually lifted the corner of the switch board.

Does what it says on the packet. Pulls keys efficiently and effectively.

Makes pulling keycaps really easy in order to clean the keyboard and keycaps!

Very useful tool for removing the keys to add the Red O-Ring Switch Dampeners to the Filco keyboard I purchased. Pulls keys off firmly and evenly but watch out for stablisers on longer keys – they are tricky to replace. I’d suggest watching the YouTube videos before attempting it.

Works as advertised at a very decent price. Better than the keycap puller that came free with my keyboard.

It does what it should do. But I’m only using this for the larger keys and for the smaller ones, I use a ring key puller that’s more efficent than this wire key puller.
Vincent –
Worked as advertised. Useful tool. SAFE removal of keycaps 🙂

Ordered to remove Windows keys (Filco keyboard) without damaging the keyboard.
Worked as expected.

Serves its purpose- and well!
Able to remove any keycap with relative ease (for a complete beginner). This key puller, unlike many others, can remove 1×1 keycaps more efficiently such as the long Shift, Backspace key and Spacebar as it grabs opposite corners of those keys instead of the middle of them.
Note for Filco users (among some other keyboard brands) be careful when removing the said above keys as they may have stabilisers under them, needing more care as they need to be disconnected from the keycap before fully removing it.
