I didnt mind staggered layouts when I used AZERTY with the move my hands all over the keyboard technique, however it became a pain when I switched to Optimot and proper touch typing.

This columnar layout fixes the awkwardness of staggered keyboards. I am still learning, still much slower than AZERTYISO but OptimotX-Bows is more pleasant to type than OptimotISO.

However at this price point I expect good programmability, and this is an older model with non-QMK firmware. The software allows to store 3 layers, change the driver layer which is not saved so you need to have the driver running to customize it. You can also customize lighting for each layer.

I have not tested everything, so not all features are listed here. I struggle to have the software recognize the keyboard every time I open it. The limited programmability would not have bothered me that much, but the unreliable software spoils the whole thing.

I have not tested the numpad.
