Having gone through three (not mechanical) keyboards over the last four years, all supposedly decent makes such as Microsoft and Logitech, I decided that it was time to try something that will hopefully last a bit longer. I touch-type and don't hammer the keyboard hard, so getting through so many does not feel right and is certainly not good for the environment.

Yes, the Gateron Brown switches on this mechanical keyboard are noisier than the membrane-based switches on the keyboards I used previously. However, they feel a lot more accurate, I get fewer typos, and overall the feedback I get from the brown switches is exactly what I was looking for (i.e. I can feel the point at which the switch has engaged).

For a modern office environment this keyboard may be too noisy. When I started my career 30 years ago, pretty much all keyboards were mechanical and noisier than today's standard-corporate-issue keyboards. However, if you bring this into an office now, you may get a few raised eyebrows. Being 100% home-based, this is not an issue for me.

Meeting software such as Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, WebEx etc have good noise suppression these days. Even though I have a tendency to take copious notes during meetings, so far no-one has mentioned keyboard noise.

Also, having tested recordings with noise-suppression disabled, even then with my microphone setup the typing can only be heard very faintly in the background. With noise suppression enabled there is no keyboard noise whatsoever.

The build quality of the keyboard is remarkable. Whilst it has a plastic case, there is no flexing and it stands firmly on my desk without any wobbling. It is actually quite heavy, so I assume there is a metal frame inside. It just feels like a quality product.

I love the fact that this keyboard has both wired and wireless support, and for wireless I am pleased that it is Bluetooth, which means that there is no USB dongle that you could lose.

I wasn't looking for a keyboard with backlight but actually quite like it now and permanently leave it on. I have noticed, however, that with backlight permanently on, the battery only lasts a few days in wireless mode. I mostly use it wired though, so this is not an issue for me. And you can always turn the backlight off as well.

Overall, as long as you know what you are getting yourself into with a mechanical keyboard (i.e. it will be noisier than a membrane-based keyboard), I would whole-heartedly recommend this one.

Decent keyboard, the full size UK layout + wireless option was the main selling point for me.

I bought it together with Keychron K10 and C2 Solid Wood Palm Rest (PR10), and coming from laptop low profile keyboards (namely the MX Keys), the palm rest really is a must, otherwise typing on it would be uncomfortable.

The keyboard comes configured with US International layout, but you get the additional keycaps + tools to configure it to standard UK layout. Also comes with gray Escape keycap.

The white-only backlight is actually a plus for me, can't stand the RGB.
Has 4 levels, plus effects, which thankfully don't need to be cycled through every time one wants to enable backlight (use Fn + F5 to dim to zero, Light key to turn on to full brightness).
Provided keycaps have transparent letters. The letters are a bit small, but that was expected and is part of the esthetic they were going for.

The wireless (Bluetooth) interface works without issues. There is a slight delay which is not present when using it via USB, but it generally isn't noticeable if you use it for writing coding.

Body is plastic, but sturdy, doesn't bend. No reason to buy the aluminium case variant if the only concern is rigidity. It has some decent weight and rubber feet so it won't move anywhere.

As for the typing, the Gateron brown switches feel alright, and I have similar speed and accuracy as I had with MX Keys, without much adapting necessary. It is a bit noisy, partly because I tend to bottom out, but also because the same noise is made when the key immediately snaps back at depress, so O-rings wouldn't really solve the noise issue. For me it would be too noisy for the office, which is a bummer as that was where I intended it to use.

Also, I bought this keyboard because I was getting tired of MX Keys, but after trying this keyboard, switching back to MX Keys made it feel decent again, which is ... interesting?

Giving it a honest 4 5, not because it wouldn't deliver on its specs, but because I feel that some other offerings on this site with a more exotic switch configuration would provide a better typing experience that would also work better in an office environment.

But still, full-size wireless mechanical keyboards are a bit of a rarity for now, the build quality is decent and the pricing is fair, so it's worth some consideration.
