UK Keychron K2v2 Bluetooth Backlit Tactile Mac/PC Keyboard

A fantastic keyboard - just bought another from Keyboardco. Fast delivery and great customer service. Recommended.

I wish we had been aware of these Keyboards a long time ago as they are such excellent value. I usually use an HHKB JP which was 4 times the price of the Keychron and that was about 8 years ago. I cannot comment on the Bluetooth as I have not used it nor the back lights as I keep them switched off however I can say that for me , and remember keyboard experience is highly subjective, this is a fantastic little keyboard. Finally echoing everyone else's experience The Keyboard Company was fast and efficient and when i need another keyboard I will make sure I use them again

Outstanding service and brilliant keyboard. Firstly the service I received was great. The team got in touch to check my order as I'd ordered a UK keyboard with US caps (deliberate). It was delivered within 2 days. The keyboard is brilliant, already love typing on it. It is quite high so you may need a wrist rest, still waiting to see if I need one. I didn't think I'd be a fan of the white lighting but it actually looks cool. The switch labels on the side are almost illegible but you can just make them out. Very well built and has a nice sturdy weight to it. Comes with a keycap grabber, which was so useful and easy to swap the keys out. It's my first mech keyboard and it's a joy to type on!

I was looking around for my first mechanical keyboard. My needs are at minimum:
(1) 65% for its dedicated arrow key
(2) Wireless (needs to swap between at least two different devices)
(3) Hot-swappable (since I'm planning for a switch upgrade later)
(4) Adjustable kickstand
(5) Cost less than £100
(6) Can be delivered within a day

I have been looking around for a while and found at least four different options: RK61, Keychron K2v2, Keychron K6, and the AKKO 8086. However, only the Keychrons fit all my checklist. To be fair, the reviews of them are not all praise, but I think that the positive outweighs all the negative (bad ABS keycaps, thicker profile).

I chose the white backlight version with Gateron Brown switch.
+ Quite compact.
+ The Bluetooth is quite good (at least for typing and regular gaming sessions, distance from receiver between 1m to about 2-3m).
+ The battery is large.
+ Extra Mac and Windows keycaps are good (even though I am only using the keyboard for Windows and Linux).
+ Gateron hot-swap with 5 feet.
+ It feels solid but not too heavy.

- The plastic feels smooth, but the edges are a bit sharp, both in the keycaps and the body (frame, kickstand). Not really sharp as in hurting your fingers, but it's not really dullsmooth. It's sharp-ish. It won't hurt you even in a long typing session.
- The ABS keycaps (especially the black keys) are.... bad-ish. I will certainly change it later.
- It's quite tall because of the thick plate. A wrist rest is a must. (Or, get an XDADSA keycaps later)
- Because of Keychron north-facing LED, you can't use Cherry profile keycaps with it.
- The physical toggles for changing WindowsMac and BTWired mode feel a bit flimsy.

In the end, I still think that if you really need something specific like me, it is still a good purchase. You might want to invest more with the RGB and aluminium frames for an extra £20, but I think that the cheapest one is already good enough.

Great keyboard and great price. My only real complaint is that the Windows and print screen keys don't have particularly good icons. That might just be due to licensing issues or something though and I imagine I could get some custom ones if it bothered me enough

After a lot of research, I decided to buy K2v2. It was the best decision I made.
The keyboard is excellent and far superior to others with the same price range. Works very nicely with Linux (Ubuntu-based).

K2v2 with gateron brown keys and I love it. I I am a CAD user and have a CadMouse Pro and SapceMouse Pro either side of the keyboard. This keyboard being tenkeyless is a perfect compact size allowing my arms to be 90 degrees to my shoulders. Love the caps lock light and print screen button that I have set to snip & sketch very useful. Great service from the Keyboard Company.

After researching various keyboards and settling on the Keychron K2, I chose the Keyboard Company as my supplier. The keyboard speaks for itself, of course it is a matter of preference, but for me, it catered for all of my needs; namely the UK ISO keyboard layout, Gateron Brown switch mechanical keys, white backlight, and MacWindows compatibility. This 5 star review is for the Keyboard Company... The order process was simple, the customer service was faultless, and delivery was fast and tracked. I will, without question, recommend the Keyboard Company to anyone who is considering buying a new keyboard; and I will look no further if I ever need to purchase one for myself in the future.

First time trying out Gateron brown switch and it is surprisingly nice! The keycaps are not very friendly to those with long nails though and the spacebar is a bit wobbly!

Excellent keyboard. I'm surprised I haven't come across this keyboard before as I buy an awful lot of tech. The main selling point for me was its ability to be used in both Windows and MacOS by flicking a switch on the side. The switch is accompanied by another switch for utilising either Bluetooth or cable connection. Complete with backlighting gives me everything I could need from a keyboard. The keys are a little loud for my liking, but it's not a deal breaker. It would have been nice to have some kind of battery icon to alert me of remaining charge while in Bluetooth mode, unless I'm missing something. Again, not a deal breaker for me. Battery life does seem to be good, though I haven't fully tested this out yet. All in all, I'm extremely pleased with my purchase. Finally, just a quick word on the keyboard.co staff. The K2v2 is a great keyboard that's a pleasure to type on with the Gateron Brown switches. These switches offer satisfying tactile feedback and aren't too noisy.

I'm a software developer, and have found that this keyboard is the perfect balance of being compact in size but still providing all the keys required for writing code efficiently (home end, arrow keys, delete). It took me only an hour or two to get comfortable typing with the majority of the keys on the K2v2, however after a week I'm just about getting accurate when hitting the home end keys to the right of the return & up arrow keys and the delete key (above the backspace key). I'd say once your muscle memory becomes familiar with the key positions that it's a dream to type on and doesn't feel at all cramped despite the compact footprint.

The keyboard comes with spare keycaps for Windows Mac, plus grey versions of the accent keys (esc and the backlight key, of which there are also included red accent versions). Also included is a USB C to A cable for charging (or non-Bluetooth usage).

I'm using it via Bluetooth with my Surface Pro (Windows), it was seamless to connect and I've had no issues with connectivity since.

I love the monochrome aesthetic having switched out the accent key caps for the grey ones. There are some very funky backlight patterns including ones triggered on keypress and more passive ones such as a gentle wave effect. There's also the option to adjust the brightness or turn off the backlight completely.

There are only two small issues that I can find with this keyboard. First, when plugging in to my Surface Pro to charge, the laptop complains that the keyboard is trying to pull too much power, and disables the USB port. This is a minor inconvenience and I've opted for charging in a USB plug socket instead. Second, for other Bluetooth devices I own, the battery level can be seen in the Bluetooth & other devices Windows settings screen. This is not the case with this keyboard, however the small battery indicator light does flash when the battery level is getting low.

Overall, this is a lovely and compact keyboard, and those minor niggles don't budge it from five stars. Thank you to The Keyboard Company!

I have just bought the v2 of this keyboard and am very impressed. I like how the UK layout now has two levels of grey keys. I think that the price is very reasonable and the deliver was very quick. I am sure they will sell out very quickly, so get one while you can...

Instructions in the box are good, LED effects are quite nice. I was able to swap the keys out for the British (PC) mac keyboard language to match my windows machine, so I can swap between the devices. It seems to connect with bluetooth quite quickly too.

Only thing to note, is that if your machine sleeps less and just spends it's time with the screens turned off, it will likely keep the LED's lit alongside the USB power for a bit. But that's true of my old logitech keyboard also.

Fantastic Keychron Keyboard k2v2, Came well packaged and super quick delivery. Before purchasing spoke to a friendly guy about the keyboard who was very helpful, after placing the order rang up again as thought I might have ordered the wrong keyboard. It is refreshing to get great customer service quickly on the end of a phone call when you just want to ask a quick question. Other people have reviewed the keyboard in depth, it is excellent and has completely replaced my space grey mac keyboard which was almost double the price. I think one of the reviews here mentions that the keyboard is the same grey for all the keys (not sure if that is a previous version) but the uk layout k2v2 features the orange keys, dark grey keys and light grey keys exactly as pictured. Think as one of those people who have just sleepwalked into using amazon for everything, it is nice that I have found this company. Will definitely be buying all of my keyboards from here in the future. This is a lovely keyboard which I'm using with my 2020 iMac - instead of the keyboard that came bundled. I bought the Gateron Brown keys version of the K2v2 - the feel and sound of the keys are great.

I love how much space there is on my table because this is a smaller keyboard than one with the numeric pad built in. I didn't get a palm rest (separate purchase needed) and cannot see that one would be needed really. I'm using this with the maximum elevation at the back, and have turned off all the lighting effects. The caps lock lights up when that is used - that is obviously very useful. I replaced the bright orange-coloured esc key with a grey esc key from the pack, so that its colour matches the keyboard as a whole - this was very simple to do.

It is also great having a dedicated key for doing screen-shots of selected areas - I quite often capture screen content. Having this dedicated key, instead of three-keys pressed at once - which is the usual mac shortcut - feels very nice.

Another useful feature, compared to a MacBook laptop keyboard, is that there are separate backspace-delete and forward-space-delete keys.

This mechanical keyboard fits my needs perfectly and is very reasonably priced compared to some others - which to be fair, I haven't tried.

It has only taken a few days for me to become thoroughly used to the different feel of this keyboard: the apple magic keyboard (as you will have gathered) just wasn't to my taste.

All-in-all, I'm very pleased. Delighted really - I find this so pleasant and productive to use.

After using the Apple Magic Keyboard for the last 6 months of WFH, all I can say this keyboard is a dream to type on. Excellent service from Keyboard Co and I must admit that a nail file is the most unique freebie I have ever received,

One month in and I'm very happy with this keyboard both for coding and gaming. I transitioned from a much thinner keyboard and was afraid of the height of this one but it turnerd out to be just fine with the addition of a wrist rest.

This is my first mechanical keyboard and I absolutely love it. Would highly recommend the K2 to anyone that is looking to get their first mech.

I switch between Mac & windows and this board handles that in a heartbeat with the simple side switch. Mine is the UK layout and looks great really subtle with just a pop of orange. The light effects are fun and just give you another excuse to play with the keys.

The K2 is a sturdy, well-built keyboard. It looks great too, particularly with the various lighting options (I have mine on the single keypress highlight) that, while completely gratuitous, are just plain cool. The keys make a satisfying clack.

It connected seamlessly with my MacBook Pro and iPad, and hasn't yet dropped the connection. Switching between the devices is simple enough.

I would have preferred the USA keycap colouring, since the UK version (for whatever reason) only offers variance with the Esc and backlight key; you can swap them out for dark orange versions that come with the keyboard. All other keys are dark grey.

It arrived before time, well packaged. No problems there. Thanks to Keychron, and thanks to The Keyboard Company.

My first mechanical keyboard and I'm really happy that I choosed the Keychron K2 with Gateron Brown switches. Typing feels pretty good and works well with my Mac via Bluetooh.
Also I'm happy with the service! Highly recommended.

Well designed, well built, lasting battery and I still can't find anything comparable in terms of OS compatibility and connectivity, especially for the price. The only thing Keychron needs to do now is start selling keycap sets for other regions besides the UK.

As fantastic as I expected.

Having not owned or used a mechanical keyboard before this one I took much time deliberating over my switch choice; after spending many hours listening to YouTube videos trying to decide which click I wanted, I opted for the Gateron Browns and they are perfect. Lovely sound and feel to add to the full house of perfectly functioning features.

I use the K2 with my MacBook and iMac through bluetooth and my custom built (blue toothless) windows machine via the USB-C to USB-A cable using the side switch to specify the system to which I am inputting.

I cannot recommend this product highly enough. Thank you Keychron and The Keyboard Company.

This keyboard pulls off something that seems like someone should have done before, but to my knowledge no other company has. If you're looking for a compact mechanical keyboard that is Bluetooth-capable and has the same layout you would find on a UK MacBook, this is it.

This is not another case of a Mac keyboard that is really just a PC board with some extra key caps for option and command: all of the key caps are in the correct Mac location (e.g. the , the @, the ` and ). The function keys, including the media keys and a dedicated screenshot key, work just as well on my iPad as on my Mac.

The white backlight on this model has a bewildering number of options, and eventually you will find the useful always-on setting, which can be turned down (and off) with F5 and F6. A very minor complaint is that there's no signifier for when the caps lock is on, which is surprising given the effort that went in to designing the other backlight effects.

The limited switch options is a little disappointing (I would have preferred clears over browns), but everything else about this keyboard makes the trade-off worth it.
