UK Matias Quiet Pro for Mac - FK302Q-UK

It's really quiet.
Mechanical keyboards offer the best performance, but they're noisy - too noisy to use in most offices, or around other people. This is the first one that's quiet. Over two years in the making, it's the only mechanical keyboard that keeps both your fingers and your co-workers happy.

Mac-friendly function keys.
Just like an Apple keyboard, the Quiet Pro's function keys let you control screen brightness, volume, iTunes, and more.
There's even an Fn key, that lets you momentarily change the function keys back to their traditional duties, when you need them.

™ € £ © are easy to find.
Extra handy (but hard to remember) symbols are printed right on the keys. Simply hold down the Option key for the bottom-right characters, or Shift-Option for top-right characters.

Laser etched keys.
All those symbols are handy, but what happens when they wear off? They won't. They're laser etched - burned into the keys with a laser - so they'll never wear off.

Sculpted keytops.
The latest trend in keyboards is to have very flat & wide keys, with little or no space between them. You see this a lot on laptops and netbooks. While they look great, they can also be a little tricky to type on. The flatness makes it very easy to slide out of home row and lose your bearings.
The Quiet Pro bucks this trend. It has traditional sculpted keytops, curved to fit your fingertips, and keep you from sliding out of home position.

3 extra USB 2.0 ports.
Some keyboards have 2 USB ports - most have none. We’re giving you three! You can plug in flash drives, digital cameras, your mouse, and more.

No ghost in this machine.
Most keyboards allow only a few keys to be pressed at once, so they can't keep up with very fast typists. The result is called ghosting - letters missing from what you actually typed, or additional letters that you didn't type.
The Quiet Pro has special Anti-Ghosting Circuitry to eliminate these problems. You can type as fast as you're able; the Quiet Pro will keep up.

UK Matias Quiet Pro for Mac - FK302Q-UK

My home keyboard is a Ducky One2 Horizon with blue cherry switches which I absolutely adore. But since I am now working from home (for what will appear to be a while) it is proving to be a little too loud for the shared space and especially for the entire day. This Matias Quiet Pro (FK302Q-UK) is really really brilliant. It feels just as good as my blues (if not better) and is incredibly quiet. It will replace my Filco Majestouch-2 with silent reds in the office for sure (which I never really managed to enjoy). If you are looking for a quiet and tactile mechanical keyboard do not think twice and get yourself one of these.

Absolutely delighted with this keyboard. I would have preferred something even more tactile, but working in an open-plan office that would be a bit antisocial this is a great compromise between tactility and my colleagues wanting to murder me.

It looks great an improvement on Apples original design as it has all available characters printed on each key, though I would prefer slightly sturdier build quality.

Fab service from The Keyboard Company.

I recently switched from an Apple Magic keyboard to the Matias Quiet Pro for Mac. Ive found the Matias Quiet Pro a lot nicer to type on and theres no way I would switch back. Ive also been very impressed with the service from The Keyboard Company & will definitely look to order from them again in the future.

As a journalist old enough to have learned to touch type on a blind keyboard (that's a keyboard with the letters and numbers blanked out, for those who have never seen one), I need a keyboard which is fast and responsive. When my last Matias keyboard started to play up (the H got stuck, and either filled in lines of hhhhhhh etc or refused to work at all) and the problem couldn't be sorted with a thorough and careful clean, I contacted Matias via their online help desk. They were sympathetic and came up with several ideas. None worked, so I ordered a new one and it arrived within 48 hours. I am delighted with the new Quiet Pro for Mac, which is as fast and delightful to use as its predecessor (which, incidentally, I had for nearly five years of constant hard use). The Keyboard Company were a delight to deal with and I can recommend them to any writer who needs a reliable, fast keyboard that works as fast as their mind!

I much prefer the Tactile Pro but late at night it will wake the kids up. So I now have two; Tactile Pro for daytime and this Quiet Pro for nighttime activities!

Both are very good. I'd never consider a regular non-mechanical keyboard now.

One thing to mention that if you - like me - suffer a little from RSI on the wrist nerves, then definitely go for the full Tactile Pro. The Quiet Pro doesn't quite solve that problem.

My last Matias keyboard for my Mac only lasted 5 years .. 5 hard years of merciless daily abuse .. in the the end the G key failed and some of the others were also showing signs of wear .. at a daily cost of 0.07p these keyboards represent excellent value for money and will take whatever you throw at them (apart from liquids .. don't do that.. ). This time I bought the quiet version of the keyboard to appease my cat who sometimes complained about the noise :-)

First day loving it.

There are a lot of nice features about this keyboard. For example, it has all the alternative functions printed on each key. Did you know the P key can also type the Pi symbol if you hold down Option? The keys feel solid, and it seems like the keycaps are removable should a set of Mac U.K. replacement keycaps become available. There are also three USB ports on this keyboard (one each on the left, right, and back side) which is super handy especially for new MacBook Pros. I also appreciate that both a long and short USB cable was included for connecting this keyboard to nearby laptops or far-away desktop computers.

The Matias Quiet Pro for Mac is my first mechanical keyboard. I read plenty of reviews on different keyboards, but I went with the Matias because of the UK + Mac layout, the relatively quiet keys that ought to be very comfortable to type with and the keyboard's outstanding build quality. I can safely say that, so far, the keyboard has performed like a dream, and that it really makes a massive difference from what I was used to. My only issue is that the keyboards at work now feel horribly unresponsive...
This keyboard is my first purchase from The Keyboard Company, and I am thoroughly impressed with how quickly and efficiently they handled ordering and shipping, as well as with the packaging.

I'm an avid fan of mechanical keyboards. I've been looking a long time for a good mechanical keyboard to use at my workplace. With the Quiet Pro from Matias, I think I found the one. The look and feel of the keyboard is great, and although the clicks are audible, they shouldn't be too loud for others.

The support of The Keyboard Company was superb. Fast, competent, friendly replies; overall a pleasure and definitely not my last order from this shop.
