Matias H Shaped Key Puller - KP101
This purpose made key puller was designed for the Matias range of professional keyboards, but will work equally well for all keyboards, push the appropriate end over the key then pull upwards and the key top should come away from the keyboard.
The smaller end has a 12mm gap and the larger end has a 25mm gap, this key puller works well for removing just the outer key cap from IBM and Unicomp keyboards.

I was disappointed that this doesn't work with all keyboards. It works fine on my Matias keyboard, but for my Keychron K2, the hooks at the ends of the puller are too thick to fit in the gaps between the key caps. I would recommend getting a more standard metal key puller instead, as they are thin enough to be widely compatible.

This piece of plastic is well worth the money as a timesaver. I reconfigured a keyboard a while ago when learning a different layout, and I put off reverting the layout for ages because it had taken me such a long time using bent-up paperclips. This piece of plastic made it a doddle. It will also give you one less hurdle towards removing keycaps for the occasional clean too!
