Filco Lacquered Wood Palm Rest Suriurushi-Nuri Large - FWPR/L-SUR
The technique leaves a very hard wearing smooth surface with some of the wood grain texture still visible, an excellent addition to a Kobo or any keyboard.
The large palm rest is 440mm wide, designed for full size Filco Majestouch-2 keyboards but should work well with any standard keyboard. Medium and small versions are also available.
The palm rest is made from Tamo wood which is widely used for furniture, it combines strength and suppleness, it is a hard wearing wood.
Included are 2 large 'PORON' adhesive feet 4.5mm thick apx. 'PORON' is a highly functional urethane foam with a fine and uniform cell structure and excellent characteristics such as energy absorption, dimensional stability and non migration. The Foot Pad series exerts a high grip power by special surface technology while keeping the basic performance as is.

Excellent quality, which I'm sure will last. The pre-attached feet hold the rest firmly in place (I suspect they use the same effect as gecko feet), but the rest can be easily removed when needed for cleaning.

Very expensive for a palm wrest, but I have absolutely no regrets. The lacquer finish on this wood is sublime, it is silky to the touch and completely free from any roughness. For anyone wondering as I was, the 4.5mm thick non-slip feet described as included in box come pre-attached to the palm wrest and are included in the specified height of 20mm. They also do a great job of keeping the palm wrest in the same spot on the desk. I bought this to use with my Keychron Q6 as I have small hands and the 17mm high wooden palm wrest for my keyboard available from Keychron (also on keyboardco.com) was a little too low for me. I wanted something that would more or less sit flush with the keyboard top-plate, which this does. Enjoying my now very comfortable typing experience. Highly recommended.

This is a great wrist rest, especially when paired with a Filco Majestouch 2 keyboard.
I bought my first more than four years ago and even though I have a really strong tendency to have sweaty palms and it's made of lacquered wood, it still looks almost brand new.
This while getting used way more than 8 hours a day during covid (so for two and a half of these four years), since I used it both for work and gaming.
When I got back to the office I needed a second keyboard and bought a second of these wrist rest for it.

I bought this wrist rest along with the UK Filco Majestouch-2, MX Blue Click Keyboard. It isn't cheap but it's fine quality, far more interesting than a piece of plastic and is perfect for this keyboard.

This palm rest is as expected from hand makers from the village in Japan where tradition and dedication to perfection and nuances have roots deep in more than a thousand-year history of making lacquer wood in these techniques is as expected to be perfect as they feel under the hand.
Seems a bit expensive for a piece of palm rest to be so expensive but if you are spending most of your life by the computer keyboard then it has sense to i itt
