Trackbar Emotion - KBC-TBAR001

It was built on the principle of centering the pointing device between the user and keyboard (defined between keys G and H). This positioning keeps the user's hands and arms in a more natural position during keyboard and mouse work. Employing this principle, this product reduces or eliminates sideways or reaching arm movements that can increase the risk of developing ULD's.
  • Symmetric design allows the use of both hands evenly. Used either with the roll closer to the keyboard or closer to the body.
  • Programmable buttons require only 50-70grams of force to activate (most mice require 2-3 times that!) and allow user to speed up repetitive functions - significantly reducing the strain of "mousing".
  • Roll bar is much larger in diameter than other roll-using peripherals allowing for precise cursor motion with less manual effort, greater comfort and a quicker learning curve.
  • Equipped with 5 programmable buttons
  • Personal choice - Trackbar Emotion is made to work either with the buttons close to you (the default position) or rotated 180 degrees and close to the keyboard. Press the button on the underside of the device to make the switch.
  • Supplied with a USB cable and a PS/2 cable.

I have previously had a Trackbar Emotion mouse and it wore out. I used a normal mouse for a while but it was affecting my hand, wrist, arm and shoulder. I am so glad to have this Trackbar mouse back and the pain I was experiencing is slowly subsiding.
I agree that the pointer used to occasionally speed across the screen which was a little irritating, however the new one I am using seems to have more control.
I would recommend it.

I bought a Trackbar Emotion for use at home. At work I have use of a Contour RollerMouse, but the Trackbar Emotion is a more affordable option for less intensive home use. The Trackbar removes the need for a large arm movement between mouse and keyboard. Compared with the Contour equivalents, the Emotion pads for resting ones hands are smaller and have a hard surface. It's fine for an hour or so, but I wouldn't want to be using it all day in an office.

As noted by another reviewer, one irritation is for the pointer to occasionally flick across the screen in response to very little movement of the roller. On the other hand, the roller on the Trackbar Emotion has relatively limited travel and it can take several attempts to get the pointer across the screen when one intends to. The Trackbar Emotion is quite an old design now, from a time before high resolution wide screens were common.

I bought this because I started to get pain with my mouse hand, i do alot mouse work and typing all day, and this has helped ease my pain to my right hand, so I am really happy with the product.

This Trackbar Emotion was ordered for a member of staff, who is missing muscle from her arm, after an operation. She really loves it and how it has helped her work, as she was having trouble with a normal mouse. She would highly recommend it for anyone suffering arm pain.

This is the second Trackbar I've had. i have been using one for about 6-7 years supplied by my company owing to some wrist pain occasionally developing from using a conventional mouse. the centre wheel has finally given up so I bought my own this time. It's great because almost no-one else in the office can use it!
The only irritation is the way it occasionally flicks across the screen or between screens if I try and hover too near the corners. otherwise I love it and it avoids any sign of RSI.
