I have had a Truly Ergonomic 209 keyboard for a couple of years now and I'm very fond of it. It took about a month to get to a point where I was typing without regular errors, but since then, my typing speed feels quicker than before and my wrists and fingers have felt so much better than before.
I bought this new model to complement my existing keyboard (one for the office, one for home).
As a bit of a warning to anyone who has also become accustomed to the layout of the 207209, the only issue I have with this newer model is that they have moved a few of the keys around into awkward positions (for me). For instance, as a programmer, I was fond of the tab key position in the centre block, as it's a key I use a lot. It's now moved to a small key in the corner, where I can't reach it easily and replaced by the minus key, which I don't use nearly as much. Similarly, the shift and ctrl keys have been switched. I'm not sure whether this was to make them more like normal qwerty keyboards, but I now find that my (fairly small for a man) hands are having to stretch awkwardly to use shift with the number keys using one hand. Maybe I need to teach myself to do shift-number with opposite hands?
I'm thinking I might make use of the online tool to remap my keyboard to the same positions as the 209, but to do that, I would also want to replace the key caps to match. I don't suppose it's possible to get hold of replacement key caps for these? Notably a tab from a 207209, as the other keys are more or less the same as most Cherry-compatible caps?
